Is it bad that I've never seen half of these items before? Perhaps I need to do more scientific research...

I got an INTJ both times I did the test, with a worryingly strong preference of Introversion over Extroversion :S

I don't think anything is worryingly strong :)
Just means your relaxing time is alone, why not!

    • You have slight preference of Extraversion over Introversion (22%)

It's funny, the two functions that, by looking at the descriptions at least, I thought I could go either way on are actually the two where I show higher preferences. Now that I think about it, although I admire the concepts of Thinking and Judging, trying to actually live out those standards never works out how I imagine. It's kind of poetic (and pretty fitting) that I can't change who I am.

"They want to both help and to be liked and admired by other people, on both an individual and a humanitarian level. This is rarely a problem for the ENFP, as they are outgoing and warm, and genuinely like people."

"They are easily intrigued and distracted by new friends and acquaintances, forgetting their older and more familiar emotional ties for long stretches at a time."

"They also tend towards procrastination, and dislike performing small, uninteresting tasks."

"ENFPs have what some call a "silly switch." They can be intellectual, serious, all business for a while, but whenever they get the chance, they flip that switch and become CAPTAIN WILDCHILD..."

"Friends are what life is about to ENFPs, moreso even than the other NFs. They hold up their end of the relationship, sometimes being victimized by less caring individuals."

For those that are interested to learn more in depth about the way their personality type works I suggest going to this site http://personalityjunkie.com/functions-ni-ti-fi-si-ne-te-fe-se/ to learn about your dominant and inferior functions. (or in this case, extroverted and introverted)

Another site to learn more about your inferior functions and how they correlate to you:
    http://www.the16types.info/vbulletin/content.php/135-MBTI-Form-of-the-Inferior-Functions

It can end up being quite taxing to absorb in so many things at once but it's a definitely something which I found to have given more dimension to what I was more or less familiar with.

Do you find that those you have discussed your personality type understand you better? Those that understand these personality tests and the significance of the letters/types I find understand why I am the type of person I am much better than others.

@John I've only discussed this in detail with my very good friend and rather than having a better understanding of the type of person I am she would agree on the points that they would explain on my personality type, even those that I may not realize/am oblivious to. But yes, I believe that learning about the MBTI certainly gives more insight into the way an individual functions and may allow someone to have a better grasp/understanding of another. It's one of the reasons why I find it so fascinating really. :)

I agree that being aware of the types is helpful in seeing how other people are, or yourself if you're looking for some self reflection.
I just wanted to point out, since you guys are saying 'why I am the way I am' and all that, the letters do not make you, after all :p
You may be a certain way, and maybe your strengths and weaknesses are accurate by the type definition, but do remember that the nicest thing about using all this is self reflection is growing from what you find. For example if you see a weakness pointed out and you're all like 'oh snap yeah thats true', well now you know its there and work on it, as opposed to saying 'well its a weakness in my personality, can't change it'.
Developing as a person is the best part imo, so just had to share that. I know I had a few things I used to look at a couple years ago and wanted to work on and I can say now that I have different weaknesses lol, but at least developing and all.

Also I assume this post makes less sense than my usual posts, I've been up all night, maybe I'll reread and edit when I wake up haha, sorry in advance for rambling :x

    • ISFJs are characterized above all by their desire to serve others, their "need to be needed." In extreme cases, this need is so strong that standard give-and-take relationships are deeply unsatisfying to them; however, most ISFJs find more than enough with which to occupy themselves within the framework of a normal life. (Since ISFJs, like all SJs, are very much bound by the prevailing social conventions, their form of "service" is likely to exclude any elements of moral or political controversy; they specialize in the local, the personal, and the practical.)

ISFJs are often unappreciated, at work, home, and play. Ironically, because they prove over and over that they can be relied on for their loyalty and unstinting, high-quality work, those around them often take them for granted--even take advantage of them. Admittedly, the problem is sometimes aggravated by the ISFJs themselves; for instance, they are notoriously bad at delegating ("If you want it done right, do it yourself"). And although they're hurt by being treated like doormats, they are often unwilling to toot their own horns about their accomplishments because they feel that although they deserve more credit than they're getting, it's somehow wrong to want any sort of reward for doing work (which is supposed to be a virtue in itself). (And as low-profile Is, their actions don't call attention to themselves as with charismatic Es.) Because of all of this, ISFJs are often overworked, and as a result may suffer from psychosomatic illnesses.

In the workplace, ISFJs are methodical and accurate workers, often with very good memories and unexpected analytic abilities; they are also good with people in small-group or one-on-one situations because of their patient and genuinely sympathetic approach to dealing with others. ISFJs make pleasant and reliable co-workers and exemplary employees, but tend to be harried and uncomfortable in supervisory roles. They are capable of forming strong loyalties, but these arepersonal rather than institutional loyalties; if someone they've bonded with in this way leaves the company, the ISFJ will leave with them, if given the option. Traditional careers for an ISFJ include: teaching, social work, most religious work, nursing, medicine (general practice only), clerical and and secretarial work of any kind, and some kinds of administrative careers.

While their work ethic is high on the ISFJ priority list, their families are the centers of their lives. ISFJs are extremely warm and demonstrative within the family circle--and often possessive of their loved ones, as well. When these include Es who want to socialize with the rest of the world, or self-contained ITs, the ISFJ must learn to adjust to these behaviors and not interpret them as rejection. Being SJs, they place a strong emphasis on conventional behavior (although, unlike STJs, they are usually as concerned with being "nice" as with strict propriety); if any of their nearest and dearest depart from the straight-and-narrow, it causes the ISFJ major embarrassment: the closer the relationship and the more public the act, the more intense the embarrassment (a fact which many of their teenage children take gleeful advantage of). Over time, however, ISFJs usually mellow, and learn to regard the culprits as harmless eccentrics :). Needless to say, ISFJs take infinite trouble over meals, gifts, celebrations, etc., for their loved ones--although strong Js may tend to focus more on what the recipient should want rather than what they do want.

Like most Is, ISFJs have a few, close friends. They are extremely loyal to these, and are ready to provide emotional and practical support at a moment's notice. (However, like most Fs they hate confrontation; if you get into a fight, don't expect them to jump in after you. You can count on them, however, run and get the nearest authority figure.) Unlike with EPs, the older the friendship is, the more an ISFJ will value it. One ISFJ trait that is easily misunderstood by those whohaven't known them long is that they are often unable to either hide or articulate any distress they may be feeling. For instance, an ISFJ child may be reproved for "sulking," the actual cause of which is a combination of physical illness plus misguided "good manners." An adult ISFJ may drive a (later ashamed) friend or SO into a fit of temper over the ISFJ's unexplained moodiness, only afterwards to explain about a death in the family they "didn't want to burden anyone with." Those close to ISFJs should learn to watch for the warning signs in these situations and take the initiative themselves to uncover the problem.

Ooh I took this back in July I think and got ENFJ!

It's scary to see how true all of this is, even though I think that I'm definitely more of an introvert than an extrovert at times. I agree with what people have said before though -- it's really cool to read more about your personality type and kind of self-reflect on your personality :) Low-key got obsessed with reading about my personality type a few days after I took the test, haha :)

edit: am I the only enfj so far?!

I don't really know what to think about the results as I don't know what they really say about me. How would you guys describe as a person just based off the results? My results seem similar to Rizzles.

Sorry I don't have to percentiles like everyone else. But, over the last few years I have tested positive for INFJ. When I was a teenager (I think the test prefers those who are 25+ for a more accurate reading) I had INTJ. My personality has not changed much.

I think it's funny seeing this thread, it's so interesting learning about the different possibilities. Some of them I can't even imagine in real life, lol. No offense meant in that.

For me, most people mistake me for an extrovert. I can be friendly and charming, sometimes bold, but overall I enjoy my own company and find crowded venues (like conventions, for example) to be incredibly exhausting and if I'm stuck in it for too long, annoying. I think that's the biggest separator for introvert and extrovert; how you feel after being surrounded by people.
