Are the damage multipliers different for umbrellas compared to wands and staffs in terms of magic attack? In case you have no idea which umbrellas I am talking about here, I'm talking about Sky Blue Umbrella, Green Umbrella, Light Purple Umbrella, Yellow Umbrella, Beige Umbrella, and Black Umbrella. Maple Umbrella and Red Umbrella does not apply here, because they do not have Magic Attacks. Umbrellas are also One-Handed Swords, but they posses both weapon attacks and magic attacks, making them ideal weapons for lukless mages and I guess... STR and Battle Mages.
They are not that ideal for lukless mages since you could just get some maple weapons for them, but, I would say that the sky blue umbrella can be used to wash starting from lv 1 but that is the only use I see from these umbrellas.
They are not different. Only thing that matters is your total Magic. Weapons for mages don't change calculations like they do for various warrior equips. Magic damage formula doesn't take in account the weapon that you're using.
Dude, I totally respect how you feel about the umbrellas and I am pretty sure you're a veteran player. However, I just want to use them for fun and this game is all about fun. I will keep this part of your advice in mind though, if I decide to play seriously ~points at my future bishop~ Thank you so much for clearing that up. Why is MapleStory so complicated like this?
which makes them useless still, seeing as you can't leave maple island till level 7. Might aswell just get that level 8 wand.
I've got a 7 INT umbrella that I use for washing on my Sin. Probably the only good use for the umbrellas since their attack is terrible after level 20 lol.
The elemental wands 1-4 are also level 70, and they can be used with booster and give bonus damage to element mages. Priests can use anything, but it's generally more difficult to both find and scroll a Black Umbrella because of where they drop (Leprechauns) and how to get the scrolls (Gachapon only for 1h sword Matk VS Ghost Ship 2 and Voodoos both dropping Wand Matk 60s, and Anego dropping Wand Matk 30s). There's nothing wrong with using a Black Umbrella on a Priest except for being harder to find and scroll, but using them on an element mage is just silly. Using umbrellas pre-70 doesn't really matter to any class since you wouldn't be scrolling them anyway, I guess. At the end of the day, 130 Elemental Wands outclass any umbrella so it doesn't really matter what you use after that.
By the way, Black Umbrella doesn't drop from Leprechauns. The MapleRoyals library says it drops from Male Boss, so it still might be obtainable from there or gach, but I can't recall seeing them in game.
