Basically what the title says.. Any bugs with skills or anything I need to worry about? I've been playing for a while and the Paladin class has always been my favorite class in every game. I'm perfectly okay with the skills as well. Next question swords or BW? 2h or 1h? What's the best option for this class?
Im a Paladin, IGN: Pursuer (in case you need to whisp me for some help), but so far everything is fine with the class. No bugs, no mishaps so to speak, it's all smooth as it always has been ! And for the sword, always go 2 Handed if you're going for damage, since the multiplier for Weapon Attack is 1.25x its own weapon attack. I prefer 1 handed, cause it fits paladin a lot more, but if you're going for damage, a must is a 125 attack + Stonetooth sword, since they are the fastest 2 handed sword in the game. But like I said, I greatly prefer 1 handed sword and shield, just feels more like a paladin you know ?
Lol damage is nice but 1 handed with a shield really does fit the Paladin class a lot more. Alright thank you I'm off to make my Paladin. Also your name... The Pursuer from Dark souls?
Oh yes, yes it is ! I was going to name it Penetrator, but the GM's would find it inappropriate. I've been speedrunning the souls games since '09 couple months after Demons Souls release haha ! Glad someone noticed
Hi there, as for my experiences with Paladin lv 146 there are more than a few Pros and Cons Pros: _ High HP without Hyper Body. _ Fun to play because of the Elements attack . _ Look badass with a shield. _ Underplayed class = cheaper class skill book . Cons: _ Even though DPS is the same as Hero but his overall damages is not very good. (some bosses dont have element weakness = lower damage) _ During lv 1-124 training is hell, and you can only use your first job skills to attack. _ His skill range is bad, if you're using 1 handed weapon, you can't hit zakum top arms. _ No Party buffs, so unless you're super-duper strong, not many people will recruits a paladin for boss runs Hopes this help
This is good aswell, but with the cons saying, "His skill range is bad, if you're using a 1 handed weapon, you can't hit zakum top arms" that would be the literal only flaw with Blast. ACB, however, will hit the top arms, tried it out about an hour ago, but blast will not come close to reaching it. Aswell, putting this on the zakum portion, the Blast radius is so small, that you have to be super close to zakum to hit his body, and if you don't have stance, you'll most likely die, A LOT during the Zakum runs.
I agreed with you but I don't think either Blast or ACB could hit zakum top-right arms, the top left arms is hit-able with ABC is true.
Yes that is what I meant, sorry about that misunderstanding. I remember trying to hit the top right with blast, and there was still a good inch or two on my screen before i'd hit it LOL
There aren't any bugs for Paladins. Blunt Weapons are usually the way to go if you manage to get yourself a godly Crushed Skull, otherwise go with Swords. Crusher Skulls are hard to get because they are only obtained through Perion Gachapon, but they provide the best DPS for Paladins. Swords are more commonly found and usually the go-to weapon because you can also use that sword for a Hero as well as your Paladin. When it comes to 1h vs. 2h, typically it's 1h (Crushed Skull) for Blunt Weapons and 2h (Stonetooth Sword) for Swords.
Please Plenty, don't give people advice when you don't know what you're talking about. As a paladin you should go 2-h because the range on blast is lower with a 1-h. As for bw vs swords the most optimal would be sword. There are some bugs with paladin, there is a very rare chance to get autobanned when attacking mobs that are weak or strong against the element of your charge. Also currently you dont need holy charge to use heaven's hammer also you can use a charge then switch to a different type of weapon and still have the charge fully functional.
Well, depending on your weapon attack it can be. Since the multiplier is 1.25x for 2h swords, a 1 handed 125 att 12 str sparta + an 18 attack shield would be a total of 143 weapon attack. With a 125 12 str Stonetooth for example, since the multiplier is 1.25x, it would be 125 x 1.25, which would be 156.25 weapon attack, or rounded to 156. That's 13 more weapon attack than the sparta and the shield, which gould give 100's to your minimum damage, making the % a lot higher with blast, so to speak :3
I meant the actual hit box. With perfect weapons that damage range difference would just increase, so 2h is cheaper and better?
Hey, on my paladin I was from 1-190 a 1-h paladin in that time i've noticed alot of disadvantages. alot of bosses you cannot hit 100% of the time or cannot hit at all. zakum arms are a good example, you wont always hit arm 1 with 1h. also hitting arm 2 is almost impossible. Pinning bf currently with 1h is impossible. Hitting some horntail parts with 1h is hard if not impossible (left arm for example) Also in general when grinding after you rush you cant instantly attack again you have a to wait a bit which in general slows you down and is annoying too. There are probably alot more examples but these are in my eyes the main ones.
I don't have the actual hitbox data, but here's a quick example of the horizontal range difference. 2h blast range is about 50% longer than 1h. Even with 2h, blast still has a much worse hitbox than brandish and many other 4th job melee skills. Spoiler: blast pls You can't pin Bigfoot 1-handed because you need to be a certain distance away from him, otherwise he will turn and use his magic attack. Also, @timthesquid, where are you getting the 1.25 multiplier from? The only difference I know of is the STR multiplier (4.6 for 2h, 4.0 for 1h).
I'm not positive, but when I did a Smega for which is better, multiple people told me that there was a 1.25x multiplier on 2handed weapons. Since then I just assumed it was 1.25x :c
Thanks for all the replies I have a lot to consider I'm currently at my gf's house with no MapleRoyals.. Obviously I played last year all summer my main is a 128 fire poison. I'm back and I have all my real life stuff under control and I'm ready to play Royals again and while I was playing last time on my Fire Poison the Paladin class really caught my eye. Thanks again for the information on the class! I'll post my IGN after I make the character if anyone of you would like to add me or post your IGN's if I can add or whisper you if I have any further questions.
