Notice Server Check 10/12/13

It’s Christmas time in MapleRoyals! The staff at MapleRoyals have decided to celebrate and give gifts in their own way to celebrate the season. GM Faye created our new Christmas FM. GM Kenny has imported many new items into your WZ files so that the other GMs will have lots of new prizes to give out (Note: These items will, for now, be only available as event prizes and are thus untradeable and undroppable). GM Matt and John have been working on code to make MapleRoyals even more stable, while the other GMs have been crafting new event ideas to make events even more fun and exciting than before!

We hope that you will enjoy all of these updates and realize that due to the amount of changes that occurred, you will need to completely redownload the MapleRoyals setup/client from the Downloads page on the MapleRoyals site.

We are also aware of the bugs that exist in PQs and rest assured, we have not forgotten about them. They are being worked on, but instead of holding up the above updates, we decided to release them as soon as they were complete.

It sounds good. But I have ne request, and I know you guys are busy, but if at possible, Pleaseeeeeeeee fix the CBD Coupons. I'd be happy, Both of my character designs I used in classic GMS require those -_-" And it wouldmake my day to play as my old character.

 

By "Event Prizes", do you mean prizes for GM Events?

 

So you mean, you have to delete all wz files that existed and REDOWNLOAD (1GB + Size) the game all over again to play?

=( Will it be possible to make things like this available outside of GM Events at some future point? I've never won anything from an event.

 

This will end up making GM events more competitive than fun, I can see people having multiple accounts for Russian Roulette. Also a lot of people suggested .wz edited items (because those are the items they want) will the event items be random? If so, then how will people receive the item they originally suggested for? I mean I'm guessing there are TONS of new stuff, what happens if I only want one item?

 

I requested certain new nx items to be added thinking that they would be available via the cash shop, rather than a complete lottery in GM events. It's cool if you get lucky and win what you're after, but.... =(

 

I think that's the point of these items though. They wouldn't be rare/special/etc if they were available outside GM events, but I do think that those that aren't particularly skillful (JQ's), lucky (RR, OlaOla, etc), or simply just always miss these events to miss out.

Maybe something like a lottery every week or something where 2% of the population will all get the same prize, or if GM events gave GM coins (or some similar sort of untradeable currency) that could be traded for certain limited items (not all, but a select few). They could still give prizes, but for everyone else, maybe get 1 coin for participation, etc.

Just an idea I'm throwing out there. Please don't attack me for it :x

Yeah at the very least I think multi-clienting at events should be officially banned and enforced.

I hope that doesn't include using 2 comps, because that will be really hard on households where there are 2 or more people playing Maple Royals. People can use this to gain unfair advantage in events, yes, but blocking it would work against families who play. (Eg myself and Mewmeister.)

 

There can be other types of events like server scavenger hunts, or exchange quests, where you hunt for etc drops.
But I like the idea of a coin currency which opens up a NPC, and you can exchange it for any .wz item you want. There should be a list with coin prices and you get like a certain amount of coins per win, and 1 for participation.

 

Umm, are there only 7 rooms in the Christmas-themed FM? (6 plus room 7 if you press up on the top of the tall Xmas tree)

What i'm worried about is that candies still drop, and malady was taken away with any notice so some people have leftover candy.

 

Looks like the Malady in Kerning still works. Not sure if it's supposed to! ^^;;

 

Chance of attending an event a day is 1/2.
Winning the event has a probability of 1/30.
Getting the item/chair you want is probably 1/80.
You can't trade the items or chairs so you can't exchange a prize you got with someone else's prize (if they have what you want). So essentially it's impossible to get the NX items you requested for?

 

I think participation points are pretty crucial. On another server I played, the GM was able to spawn a special item (used as event token with an point-system NPC) instantly for everyone that attended in their inven.

 

False. I take it you want to keep your original maplestory folder to play other servers. You can have as many versions as you want.
Just make a new folder, install or paste the files there and you're good to go. You do need to redownload the whole thing though!!

Also, great changes! I hope we'll be able to get these items through different methods as well. Doesn't have to be easy, just available.
