This is more about what you've prioritized lately, I love this server, but you guys were so hooked on offensive language, we let a hacker get by when they should have been caught within a week of them playing! I'm just thinking instead of worrying about every small case of something that is POSSIBLY offensive to SOMEBODY SOMEWHERE, we need more prioritizing. I mean if he got away with those hacks, who's to say others didn't too, eh? Just a thought though mates.

Its not like you have hidden admins on every map checking for bad words...most of the bans for offensive language are based on reports i belive...And at the same time you also cant expect from admins to check every single person for suspicious items...its hard to find hacker when he is carefull :( prototype was suspicious for quite some time already but you cant ban some one without evidence and unfortunately he had this stupid idea of dropping tons of duped stuff in fm :( but i belive that admins are doing good job banning hackers so far :)

    1. Catching hackers is actually quite easy. The GMs have plenty of time to go around checking everyone online (excluding the large chunk that is in the FM anyway.) They also have a tool that creates a list of all people using potential hacks, which isn't always accurate, but is generally what leads them to their bans. This list focuses on damage being dealt, time in the air, etc. So if they are too busy to take a quick buzz to the players, then they can just check that.

With as many people on the staff as we have, we should be able to cover the large majority of the hacking community.

    2. As for the profanity, this argument is back? I thought the server had sort of decided it would be handled on a case by case basis and that they wouldn't be so anal on it anymore. If you are unsure what I am talking about, please check back like a month or two ago, around the time the server was split in two on this issue. If this is becoming an issue again, they are just trying to cause a shit-storm.

On the other hand, if it is actual cases of harassment and people are intentionally verbally insulting people to be "trolls" or whatever, then that is different and is ultimately more important than hacking if you ask me. Being harassed would cause me to quit a server waaaay before hearing some guy was using damage hack in some map far away from me.

He was on our watchlist for a week (maybe more). We ban only when there is clear, tangible evidence of hacking; not just suspicion alone. All of us were absolutely certain that he was a hacker- but since all the items he got could be legitimately made/bought, we could not ban him. :/
