I'm not quitting, I just don't play this game anymore.

It is time.


I've started this thread a dozen times before, and never made it through to finishing. I've been telling myself for the last three months that I'm on a break, and I'll come back after the summer. If anything, I've gotten MORE busy than when I stopped playing, and I can't keep saying maybe; my time here on royals is at an end.

Hi, I'm Jake, or Barbell depending on how well you knew me. I've been playing royals since november 2013, first as Feather, then Barbell, kettlebell, dumbbell, and 27 other characters of various levels. I played royals in my downtime between ambulance calls as a paramedic, and between classes as a student. I met some people who became (and remain) the best people in my life, became one of the highest level bowmen in the server, was an active junior in the guild boobs for over a year, peaked at a net account value of approximately 40billion mesos - only about 3billion of which was a result of gachapon, and spent a LOT of time answering nub and pro questions alike on the forums and in game. I stopped playing at the end of june, when the last summer vacation of my life started. Royals has been very important to me - much more so than GMS ever was, and I will never forget my time here.



Lurker of Ban appeals. Farmer of any and everything summon farmable. Overuser of commas. Spammer of Math. Lifter of light weights. Slacker of ambulances. I am me.

So that's it for me. I'm leaving because I'm expecting to go through one more very busy year of college, and start med school in the fall. You could always hope that I come back between now and then - but that probably means I've failed in the one thing I've wanted to do since I was six years old, so please, don't do that.

I might stop in from time to time, just to chat. I may spam the shoutbox on occasion. I'm still in skype groups with many of you, so hopefully I see you there, and if anyone else wants my skype feel free to PM me on forums. I'll still be doing some giveaways (mostly NX) with my guild, which will mean I'm checking forums periodically. I haven't decided what I'm doing with the rest of my things - there's still some valuable stuff laying around on my account. We'll see.

To Heroes; What I thought was a weekend trip back to maple turned into nearly two years at this game, and I blame all of you. Thanks for creating enthusiasm, for fostering excitement, and for showing me that royals could be more than a way to kill a few hours.

To Boobs; Boobs is luv. Even though I took three invites to join, Boobs is life. Boobs 4 ever. I have seen this guild in every incarnation of members, through more deaths and revivals than I can recount. You have become great within this game, and even better outside it. When I think of this server, Boobs will always be the people that I remember first. When I think of a family that I chose, I will think of boobs. I'll certainly stop in now and then - see you around.

Peas; You created something special. It takes a certain person to do that. You've been the most excellent guild leader, and you'll be excellent when you get into nursing. Never stop feeding in LoL and going inactive for months at a time in royals. Peace.

Drew; We had some good times and some better talks. You're still crazy with the grinding/character making. Never lose that passion man, you're going to kill it whatever you decide to do in life.

Wenna; Formal dates forever ok? ok. Or at least we need to do our drink off night before you move. Maybe on the upcoming boobs movie night?

To all the boobies that joined when olympus died aka revival #1; (Even though I don't think any of you are still playing) I couldn't have asked for a better set of people to add to my maple family. We got along sometimes and didn't others, but I love you all just the same.

To all the banned boobies out there; Fight the power.

To all the new boobies out there, and all the boobies to be; Jump in. Don't wait. Every minute you're not a part of this guild is a minute you aren't getting the great things you could be out of this game.

To my ATW team #teamcolorblind #teamnerfsynergy; Ya'll taught me how to go hard, but at the same time how to not take this game so seriously. You showed me how to be proud, while I was laughing at myself. That goddamn Shower Power man, that might have been the highlight of the last year of my life.

Chance; Lemme hit you up some time in a year or two when your a famous Hollywood actor and I'm in med school in cali alright? Beers on you? Sounds like fun. GO after it like you went after your royals goals; nothing can stop the kind of determination and motivation you've got.

Eli; Beers in Boston when my sister moves down there? Sounds good. You're the truest definition of my bro, this game absolutely wouldn't have been the same if I hadn't met you.

Jen; I wish I had gotten to know you better. Thanks for the lols, and the hard work you put in for the team, but mostly for the lols.

Dean; Rip.

Jaysun; Since the "ATW team" shout out is mostly a shoutout to you, this will be quick. Never change. Crabpuffs foreva.

Yolosquad: Since this is basically a list of all the people Sami knows, and Sami is a lot better at meeting people than I am, this is also effectively a list of the rest of the people I know. Some of the best times I can recall were the most yolo of these runs. Thanks for always being around and down to do -something- whether that be a trio HT, a quick trip to the airport, a marathon wait for the level up party when we found out sami couldn't add/subtract to determine how much exp he needed to level, or just talking shit in skype. Thank you.

Samifarious; hit me up when you get back from the airport bruh, I'll probably be getting back from the ambulance about the same time. P.S. you got me back for that leech you owed me, but you still owe Peas one hour at wolfspiders.

Synergy HT: Thanks for taking the little scrub I was and turning me into someone who knew how to boss on this game. Thanks for introducing me to a wide array of people I never would have been able to meet otherwise and thanks for all the books and pendants given out for the good of the entire community, not just for your own pockets.

A long time coming, but still...

I've only seen you during a small period, the time where I joined Boobs, but you left an impression nonetheless, on my little brother as well. All the best Jake and hopefully we will never meet again, seeing what would be needed to make that happen.
