You should be fine for now if you follow up by making some mesos and adding some Int using your fresh AP.
What att difference will make up the different att speed between a fast spear and normal speed spear? If someone scrolls a godly fishing pole, can it substitute for a well scrolled pair of skiis?
Hey Plenty! Love this guide - I think it has inspired me to make a Spearman as my main damage dealer. I have three questions, however! First: In terms of money needed to fund your dexless Swordsman, how much do you suggest we save up before starting out? If you wouldn't mind, I'd love to hear why/what you suggest spending money on to start. I'm thinking in terms of ... Should I only worry about purchasing a dex robe (and how much dex do you deem necessary on that robe? What number feels like too much?) - or should I find an accuracy weapon as well. You've posted some great tips here, but I'm curious what you think is appropriate to buy vs what is being over-zealous. I'd love to start my main damage-dealer sooner rather than later! Second: In terms of HP washing, I am so happy you posted guides - I'd never heard about it before, and I love having some walkthrough options for it! With that in mind, what price range do you suggest having before we HP wash? Are we thinking of spending 100m on AP Resets, or 1bill on AP Resets? I personally feel that doing it by level fifty is important if I want to get a Zak helm at that point. Third: Why is the purple snowboard not considered a boss weapon? Is there a particular reason that people prefer Spears>Polearms? I'd like to think there are some cool looking polearms out there, and I am interested in making them my endgame weapon!
I'd say around 300m is good. Start off with getting a Dex Robe as they usually give the most accuracy for your meso. From there, focus on getting a nice Impaler and you should be set on accuracy for a while. If you still have a few issues with it, scroll yourself an Accuracy/Dex Green Bandana until you get yourself a Zakum Helmet. Close to 2b in AP Resets. You should be able to raise that much money once you get to the point where washing your HP actually matters. Bossing is a 1v1 situation and your best 1v1 skill is Crusher. Crusher is a force stab skill and Pole Arms have a nerfed damage output when you stab so the damage is severely worse than using a Spear.
You only need to care about the accuracy it gives , that means 20 accuracy on level 16 hex which is max ( I stopped adding at this point) .
Question on your 3rd job skill table. Your table suggested that by lvl 120, you will max spear crusher (30 sp), spear fury (30sp), roar (30sp), ele res (20sp), and anything (37sp). 30+30+30+20+37=147sp But from lvl 70 to 120 you should have 151sp (Lv120-Lv70)*(3sp/Lv)+(1sp@Lv70)=151sp (note that the unit Lv cancelled out. Got my units right. Nerd =D) So something isn't right. If I remember correctly, roar requires Lv3 sacrifice, so add that to your table (147+3) gives 150sp, still missing 1sp.
Too lazy to do the math right now, but as long as you maxed your core Dragon Knight skills, you should still have as many free SP as you want.
Okay that's cool. Based on your training location guide, I'd recommend this: Lv 70-80, 30 into polearm fury (30 max), and 1 into spear fury (1, use it to gather monsters faster and easier when using a spear). Lv 81-90, 30 into spear crusher (30 max). Lv 91-100, 3 into sacrifice (3 max), and 27 into roar (27) Lv 101-110, 3 into roar (30 max), 20 into elemental resist (20 max), and 7 into spear fury (8). Lv 111-120, 22 into spear fury (30 max), and 8 into anything (I personally will add the 8sp into iron will from 2nd job since it's at 11 with hybrid build. 19 def is kinda useless, but more useful than lv 11 sacrifice IMO). End result at lv 120: spear crusher (30), spear fury (30), polearm fury (30), roar (30), elemental resistance (20), sacrifice (3), and anything (8). 151 sp total.
Is there a difference between spear fury and polearm fury? cuz if not there's no reason to get ski sky as it is worse than the surfboard.. can you not just go all in on polearm skills and only get one weapon, the surfboard?
Spears do more damage with the stab animation, Polearms do more with the slash animation. That said, both Fury skills only do the slash animation; the damage on Spear Fury is significantly lower than the damage on Polearm Fury not because of the skill damage percentages but because of the innate properties of the weapon that you must be holding to use them. The opposite is true for Crusher; Spears do more damage than Polearms on stabs, and Crusher is always three stabs, so Spear Crusher is better than Polearm Crusher in every scenario. Combine that with the fact that Crusher is superior in dps to Fury, and you have the reason that Spear Crusher is the strongest and thus most important skill to max in your third job, and why it gets used from the moment you max it onward, and why the Sky Ski is the end-game weapon for Dark Knights, as it's the best weapon available that can be used with Spear Crusher.
Oh, that explains it, thanks ! but I still wonder, do dk's have both a strong polearm and a strong spear late game ? in zakum for example to the sometime change weapon to use the other skill?
