If you are in a party with a botter, you suffer the same penalty as the botter themselves. This is spelled out in our Terms and Conditions.

as far as i know, he was just repeatedly using that skill and not botting.

The player banned for botting had admitt to placing an item on his keyboard to continue functioning while studying.

I see, so physically pressing/placing an item on the skill key for a long time also falls under "botting"? I'm baffled, I thought botting meant using an external third party software to repeatedly perform actions for the player.

This is the rule that applies to this case:
    1. Engage in robot play (i.e., "botting") or any other behavior that allows you (or any character you are controlling) to automatically function or effect any action in a game with or without your presence; Punishment: 1st offence - 7 day ban, 2nd offence - permanent ban
Placing an item on your keyboard allows you to function automatically with or without your presence.

I see, well thank you for clearing up the issue. I'll be sure to steer clear of party invitations from such players in the future.
