Thanks for the suggestions Switched from Ethernet connection to WiFi on my host pc and it seems to be working now ^_^
I did everything but i still get the message of GR2D failing. Also when i go to my hardware settings and went to display, Accelerate 3D Graphics is in grey and i can't change it
Are you sure you have VMware Tools installed? If that's not it you can still check these things: http://royals.ms/forum/threads/how-...s-closing-your-client.16643/page-2#post-97103
I always put my maple folder on an USB stick and transfer it like that so that's something you could try. I don't install anything just copy paste and run it.
Sorry for bumping, You said that the problem is caused by the machines that have a lot more of the requirements for maplestory. but what if i have a bad laptop with onboard graphics, dualcore 2gb running on windows 8? can i ht on my laptop? i have a gaming desktop and im planning to buy a ht vip service. thing is, im using ssd, ssd's are very small in storage and i have some other games installed, so if i can do ht on my laptop without installing a vm on my desktop i would be more than happy
All you can do is try it out, people won't charge you for a VIP service if you DC during the run. I did mention that the current generation of computers is overqualified for Maplestory but the main problem for Horntail is the NVIDIA cards. If you're on some on-board graphics you should be ok. Yes, there's also beta players that use similar VMs/OS's to run the beta on their MACs since we don't have a client out for MAC yet. The goal of the beta is to be able to play the game on any setup without graphical glitches though which would rule out VMware and allow you to just play on your regular PC. It would be more valuable to us if you played on whatever you're normally running and report GFX errors to us on the forums so we can sort them out.
Ok after setting up my vm, and everything as you said, (800x600, comptability mode) i cant boot the same, it says failed finding proper screen mode for gr2d , any clue about how to fix it?
It works but I have another question - how can I play with both screens without keeping Ctrl+Alt ? after 2 times I do that the screen of the Vmware becomes white and I have to shut the mapleroyals off, in addition there isn't a mouse cursor that appears while passing screens.. I would like to hear about a solution
I had the same problem This solves it, but its a bit "tricky" theres the solution step by step 1) enter unity mode 2) the vm will use the same native resolution as your main pc 2) launch mapleroyals 3)if your game is set to full screen the vm will be back to 800x600 and the cursor and the white screen will continue, so dont alt tab while doing the next 2 steps 4) log into your account 5) set your game to windowed 6) enjoy.
Btw, I got a solution : Log in first to your regular screen and window mode it , then open the VMWare and put your window mode regular screen on the VMWare. After you done that go to the VMWare and open there the mapleroyals client - straight away tab :ctrl+alt+enter and it will window mode without any problem - you can drag every window as you want and you are able to play with 2 windows
So I am trying to make a second virtual machine on this computer. It has the same settings and everything as my other one. Once it got through the windows XP setup and I could see that nostalgic field in the backround, this happens: The bar next to "starting" does not move, and F2, F12, and ESC do not do anything. Trying to shut it down makes a message pop up, "The virtual machine is busy." I don't remember this happening when I made my first one. EDIT: Seems to be working now, but I had to forcibly shut down my computer. Last time I had to do this the VM just did not appear at all upon restart.
@Sindrayl You can simply play your VM in a different resolution that matches the 3x4 ratio that maple uses ( 600x800 pixels) to get rid of any black bars.
