Not sure if this was reported before, but I was in creeping evil today and was using the 3rd job dragon when someone came into my map and started killing my leps. I asked them to cc without bothering to mapowner because I had been dragoning consistently without any lapse in cast time. He refused to stop, so I mapownered to show that the map should have been mine. However, it turns out that the mapowner had changed to him. I think its a bug with the dragon not registering as an attack, therefore not refreshing mapowner whenever it attacks. However, it is a skill that kills monsters and does damage/draw aggro, so I think it should affect mapowner.
well i dunno about that but i had same problem at manon while trying to get my genesis skill i owned map and ppl came and attack and it keep changes owner like every min has another owner because all attacking
I think this happens with all summonable friends, I remember I lost mapowner once to my own mule when Frostprey despite attacking didn't keep mapowner.
I made a small test and now I'm sure that summons count as a buff and not an attack. As you can see I came to this map which was owned by FatBen, used my Phoenix and killed some monsters with it but didn't get ownership, used Angel Ray with my bishop and got it. So yeah... you can lose mapownership very easily if you only use your summon, try throwing a random attack after you summon to keep mapownership next time.
I will do that from now on, but I just feel like it should register as an attack since I am killing monsters/drawing aggro
Summons don't register as an attack for mapowner, since a summon attacking doesn't necessarily mean that you are at your computer.
