Hi, so I'm completely stuck as far as what to make for my bossing/DPS class. As far as I know, I'm between Drk, Hero, and Nightlord. Though really I'm open to anything. I've got a support F/P Archmage and Bishop, as well as 134 int worth of common equips for washing. I'm relatively funded, but I despise the thought of throwing billions of mesos into the hole that is AP resets, unless I know that the character will pay it off.

My concerns: Cost and Maximum potential.

I'm drawn to DrK because getting to 30k HP is so easy and cheap. I've got a decent sky ski, and with the update, HB lasting longer, and Berzerk's min HP increase up to 50% is little more convient than the 40% it is now. My concern is that Drk will cap out and never reach a high potential like a Hero can.
I'm drawn to Hero because it is the definition of DPS and survivability. I would still need to rely on HB though which is a con in my list of pros vs cons. I've already got a lvl 92 Crusader that is slightly washed, with about 10k HP, but I've got no problem coming back to it whenever I feel like it. One upside is that Heros and Drks can share a lot of equips.
I'm drawn to NL because they are the definition of DPS. NL's can pretty much accept infinite funding and become the best DPS class. That said, the cost to HP wash a NL correctly is astronomical, and they don't really ever excel in mobbing, so fully reliant on bossing.

Overall I'm looking for a class that is both desired for bosses like Zak/HT, and maybe even Pink Bean one day. I'm also looking for something I can solo with, BF, Anego, etc. Essentially I'm looking for a middle ground between being a strong attacker, and having enough group desireability that I can find a party.

As I said, I'm open to all suggestions, even outside of my initial thoughts between NL, Drk, and Hero, though I don't like Corsairs.

Don't know too much about Bowmasters, besides they don't have snipe, sharp eyes is useful for parties, they need a lot of HP washing, and their weapon attack multiplier is really low. Any reason you would recommend making one? As far as I can tell, Sharp Eyes is the only thing that applies to what I'm looking for.

Regarding your two concerns: cost and maximum potential, I think that corsairs may actually be the best fit for you (although I don't know your preferred style of gameplay). While NLs are certainly very strong, when fully buffed (both SE and SI), corsairs will win out over NLs in terms of DPS a lot of the time (assuming you have reasonably good mount/dismounting skills). Corsairs have the highest base HP out of the ranged classes from what I've seen - though they are very slightly harder to wash compared to NLs (though you don't want to wash a lot on a corsair anyway).

NL damage scales up a lot with weapon attack since they have a high multiplier relative to corsairs, but this would also mean they lose out more when using lower attack potions (energizers, and even stoppers). This also means that you would need to gain a lot of attack from your cape, gloves, and shoes to benefit the most - this is a very time consuming process, and would require multiple times the amount of mesos you would need to wash your NL.

I am a decently leveled sair (nearly 17x now), so my opinion may be biased, but I believe a well played corsair will always top a well played NL. As for hero and Drk, they are both good choices in terms of cost, but in terms of bossing, they will never come close to the amount of DPS dished out by NLs and corsairs. You mentioned "something I can solo with" - NLs really depend a lot on SE for DPS output, so I really do suggest considering corsair over NL.

I appreciate the time and thought you put into your response. I made a corsair the first day they came out, and something about them just irritated me. My main concerns when choosing a class were originally Mobility, viable dps, and potential. Corsairs are pretty mobile which I enjoy, and undeniable have decent DPS, but leveling is miserable, and they also have less potential than a Night Lord with infinite funding. When I reach the point where my character has no more improving that it can possibly do, no more goals, etc, I quit it and move on to the next character.

I think I'm leaning towards DrK at this point, I'll probably make my decision today. Having all of the DPS in the world to help with bossing doesn't do much for you if you are dead.

*Or stick with my Crusader, its on a pretty solid path for 18k HP
