2pro4u. 1st job. This guide is for an Corsairs. NOT for an Buccaneers. Be aware. First of all, you need to become a Pirate. For that to happen, you need 20 DEX base. At level 10, go to Nautilus Harbor and meet Kyrin. A quick tutorial on how to find her: Reach to the yellow dot. Yellow dot again. Orange dot. 1st skills: * Bullet Time [Increases accuracy and avoidability] * Flash Fist [Uses MP to speed up the punch to rapidly attack enemies, can be use with a gun] * Somersault Kick [A devastating kick that accompanies a backward summersault. Attacks 3 enemies in the vicinity] * Dash [Press left or right arrow twice to temporarily boost speed and jumping ability] * Double Shot. Double Shot - MAXED. Grinding places: Level 10-13/14 ~ Job instructor quests (In our case, Kyrin's) Level 14-17 ~ Bubbling \ Green Mushrooms Level 17-19 ~ Stirges \ Horny Mushrooms Level 20-21 ~ Sleepywood Level 21-30 ~ Stay at Sleepywood \ Kerning City Party Quest. 24\26-30 ~ Evil Eyes (HUGE SPAWN). 2nd skills: * Gun Mastery [Boosts the accuracy and the mastery of the Guns. This skill only applies when you're equipped with the Gun] * Invisible Shot [Attack multiple monsters by quickly firing a round of gun, so fast that it's almost invisible to the naked eye] * Grenade [Attacks a monster by throwing a grenade. The distance the grenade travels depends on how long you press the skill key] * Gun Booster [Use HP and MP to temporarily boost up the firing speed of the gun. This skill can only be triggered when the Gun is equipped] * Blank Shot [This skill allows you to pretend to shoot a gun, faking out the monsters. Instead of firing bullets, it'll fire a flag. This will temporarily stun up to 3 monsters] * Wings [Allow for a longer, more sustained jump than a regular jump] * Recoil Shot [Uses recoil of the gun to run back after a gunshot] Grinding places: Level 30- 51 ~ Monster Carnival party quest. Level 51 and above ~ Focus on Orbis party quest (Gives a decent exp until you reach 73-72). As for alternatives, Forest of Golems will work until 65. Ghost Ship is also great for levels 51- 60, then you can move to Ghost Ship 2.
Is it really worthwhile to raise somersault kick before maxing your real attacking skill? And if somersault kick gives faster training than double shot in 1st job (which is the only reason I can see for doing like this....) then why not just max it flat out in 1st job and work like a sort of "reverse sindit?" Additionally, if bullet time only gives acc and avoid, and your primary stat is already dex, what's the point of maxing THAT before finishing off double shot? I understand in a 1x rate server, for a completely unfunded character who wanted to save 100k on mp pots.... but here, it just doesn't make sense.
Yup, the training is faster using Somersault Kick. The main reason why this skill isn't maxed is because it becomes pretty useless when you get Invisible Shots at 2nd job. I rewrote it though. It is. I copied the info from Hidden-Streets.
Somersault Kick does far more damage than Double Shot does even when at level 1 SSK compared to level 20 DS, and it's a mob skill. Not that you what you have is wrong, but here's what I'd personally go with: Lv. 10: +1 Somersault Kick (1) Lv. 11: +3 Somersault Kick (4) Lv. 12: +3 Somersault Kick (7) Lv. 13: +3 Somersault Kick (10) Lv. 14: +1 Somersault Kick (11), +2 Double Shot (2) Lv. 15: +3 Double Shot (5) Lv. 16: +3 Double Shot (8.) Lv. 17: +3 Double Shot (11) Lv. 18: +3 Double Shot (14) Lv. 19: +3 Double Shot (17) Lv. 20: +2 Double Shot (20) [MAXED] Lv. 21: +3 Dash (3) Lv. 22: +3 Dash (6) Lv. 23: +3 Dash (9) Lv. 24: +1 Dash (10) [MAXED], +2 Bullet Time (2) Lv. 25: +3 Bullet Time (5) Lv. 26: +3 Bullet Time (8.) Lv. 27: +3 Bullet Time (11) Lv. 28: +3 Bullet Time (14) Lv. 29: +3 Bullet Time (17) Lv. 30: +2 Bullet Time (20) [MAXED] Explanation: Level 11 SSK is far stronger of a grinding tool than Double Shot is, so get that immediately. It's both stronger as a damage dealer and can hit multiple mobs. Double Shot is maxed first out of all of your remaining skills because of the range; it's incredibly helpful at KPQ, where anyone will tell you that range is an asset, especially at the first stage, where many people will grind at rather than finishing the PQ. Dash is maxed next because the mobility helps you out immensely in KPQ, or also simply to get around on grinding maps, in town, in the FM, wherever you might be. Bullet Time is maxed last because you should not be having any problems with accuracy as a Gun-user, assuming you're allocating your AP properly. Options: If you really want the mobility and will use a Fish Spear (scrolled? f2) in order to get the best SSK damage, then you should consider maxing Dash before Double Shot. In fact, if you really don't like Double Shot, you can even max it last, and get Bullet Time before it, though there is basically no advantage to this (and if you hate Double Shot so much, you probably should consider another class).
I'd add an SP to dash at one of the first levels because I can't stand the slowness that maplestory's characters have. Other than that, it's perfect! I'll update it as soon as I get home.
Erm, in the future it pays to have 11 sp in Flash Fist, as it is useful for knocking enemies back so you can shoot your gun at them. If you are impatient, then 11 in SSK is better but in the long run having sp in Flash Fist will help more.
Don't act as if you know anything about pirates. I bet you've never even played a Corsair. What I'm trying to say is: Listen to this guy, he's pretty experienced when it comes to Corsairs.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but for Flash Fist you need a Knuckle. Then, every time you want to use the skill, you have to switch the weapon... and then switch it back. It sounds abit slow to me. Since Knuckles require a good amount of STR, you can't wear an item who passed 50% of your level. I'm level 107 and the item with the highest level requirement that I can wear is for level 50. though, you can use a Maple Weapon, but it still won't have a good amount of att for high levels.
Excuse my typo, I got excited at the prospect of flash fisting Tobi. Also I didn't realize it would copy my music too, so my bad. How2youtube
Not sure why you think I'd be in Nautilus whenever someone leveled to 10. Jokes aside, decent guide. SSK is the best!
I lived my whole life in a lie... Guess I need sp resets... A lot of them :< Edit: I'll add another build when I'll be home.
Didn't know that Flash Fist works with a gun, good to know. I still stand by having SSK over FF though, since it hits 5 at level 11, helps with training early on, and still can KB mobs off of you like Flash Fist would... personally, from 10-120, I never had a need for either of them, neither are on my keyboard. If a mob ever got too close to me, I had Recoil Shot to push it away and make some space between the two of us. In third job, I had Ice Splitter too, though its damage is broken, the freeze helps in making space.
Are you sure about its damage is broken? Is there any chance to increase it? I always thought that the skill just work that way...
The damage is epically low on them, but the freeze effect works just fine. Capsules are broken, and the staff know about it.
