    Hello there!

I have a current issue with MapleRoyals as when I start it up, it flickers.

I have a Windows 8 machine I am currently using, I have set comp. to Windows XP SP3 with running as administrator.
    Doesn't work.

    I've changed monitors, doesn't work.

I have 8 gigs of RAM.
My GPU is INTEL(R) HD GRAPHICS 4600 and is currently up-to-date.

    Please help!

    Only when it starts up?
The normal compatibility for Windows 8 users is Windows 98/Windows ME.

    Yes, only when it starts up. I have tried running the Setup.exe file also, but it says;
"Unable to gather up your system information. Please check if you have DirectX 8.1 or higher installed."
I have DIRECTX 11, if this helps.

I am not sure why it would tell you that, as always you can try re install and see if that solves the setup.exe problem.

It solved the Setup.exe problem but not the number one main problem.

Even after running Setup.exe, it doesn't work. Any suggestions? I'm on a 64 bit system if it helps.

When you say it doesn't work what happens?
I thought you were able to play.

I haven't been able to play. My main problem is that MapleRoyal just flicker to the Wizet screen and then blackness repeatedly.

Have you used the setup.exe and you can see everything clearly?

Are you logged in as admin on the computer and running the game with admin rights?

Is your PC fully updated to Windows 8.1 with all available updates?

If so, you may want to try and fresh reinstallation of your display drivers, but you need to make sure you remove every remnant of driver from your PC before you reinstall it. If you boot your PC into Safemode and then use a program called DDU uninstaller, this program will remove any traces of your video drivers. Are you sure you don't have a firewall or antivirus program?
Windows Defender, Microsoft Security Essentials, Razor Synapse.
    Your normal firewall.

I have tried both of the above and sadly none of them work. :(

Does this happen both in full screen and window mode? Also read that some people fixed this by changing the game resolution and/or the refresh rate on the screen.

edit: I recall changing the screen resolution once when I had windows 8(not 8.1) but it was just a temporary fix it seemed.
