Edit: Since everyone here thinks I'm here to scam 7.2b Jeen (injeenious) will now be responsible for holding the fundraiser's funds. Edit2: If you wish to remain Anon, please PM Jeen (injeenious) or me on forums to do so. Hello everyone, just a short and brief introduction, I am AtariMoni and I am making this thread in response to the victims from the latest chain scam by "Haul". As far as I am concerned, there were three victims who were scammed of 2b, 2.3b, and 2.9b, making it a total of 7.2b mesos, quite a large sum at first glance. I am making this thread to bring together the community, in hopes to fund-raise the total 7.2b mesos to reimburse the victims. Now I know a lot of you will say. it's their fault for being scammed, or why only reimburse these three people out of the hundreds of people that get scammed everyday, it's their fault for not doing their research and an abundance of many other things that have their own valid points, but I made this thread considering the controversies it will cause and I stand firm to help out these three victims. Haul was part of my guild and I won't go into detail about his stay but none of his actions during this time were alarming or even caused suspicion. Maybe it's my fault for never noticing this but how can the victims really be to blamed in this scenario. I would say Haul is decently known, no bad reputation and I don't think there were any reasons to highly doubt the authenticity of his trade and intentions. This is also one of the many determining factors of why I chose to do this fund-raising for them. I spoke with many people on my BL, in my guild and someone said "all these guys are probably richer than me", and they're right, these guys probably have decent net worths and probably are well off in the game, but how much mesos they have doesn't mean they don't feel the bitter feeling of being scammed 2b+ in mesos, which equivalates to their time and effort spent to make those mesos. I ask each and every one of you who had time to read to really think about how easy it is to accomplish this goal with a combined effort. For the people that are able to make a difference, what's 50m mesos really? 50m is basically 1h worth of leech for a mage, give up boss run splits for one day, give up a bit of mesos if you get lucky in gachapon, it really is nothing if you REALLY thought about it in a bigger picture. Again, I am not here saying any of you are obligated to help. Also, I'm doing this purely out of the consideration for the victims and I hope that Royalers can come together as a community to help out. My roommate and I will donate a combined 500M to this cause, leaving the total funds at 500M/7200M. I will make a list of all contributors and how much they've chosen to donate. With thanks, AtariMoni (Pulse), Injeenious (Jeen) Also, taking into consideration some concerns, if you wish to donate to the victims DIRECTLY, please notify me (AtariMoni) OR Jeen (injeenious) and also let us know how much you wish to contribute so we can give credit where credit is due. If you don't mind, can you go into detail about how this Haul person managed to scam such a large amount of mesos?
I'm not very rich but I'll donate 100m c: This is such a nice idea! I'm sure those that lost their mesos would appreciate it!
I agree, this is highly inappropriate, and completely unnecessary. Also here to donate 100m. The reason why this is here is so that from the funds raised, everyone will get an equal % of what they were scammed from the whole 7.2 rather than giving 100 here or there. Attention: Here to let everyone know that I will personally take responsibility for this fundraiser in the event that anything happens and make sure that your mesos go towards the cause. Basically, I pay you all back even if I have to sell my items,
My point is that this can be done without 1 person having all the money, just make a post when the fundraiser is over with a list of the people that are donating and to who of the affected they have to donate their money. I'm just saying this because there could be people that want to donate but they don't feel like handing over their money to someone they don't know when there is no real need to do it.
Which is a completely valid point. If people wish to do so, please just let us know what the amount is so that we can add it to the total donations and make a note that you will give it to people personally. Other than that, I can say if you don't want the bother of tracking them down, or doing the math, feel free to find me in game (I may also be on haydee or Seductress) and I will hold onto those who wish to do it that way as well ^^ For those wishing to remain anonymous, please pm me or atari on the forums with amount you would like to donate and by which method ♡
Even though this is pretty much all my mesos, i'll donate 200m If i'm not super lazy I should be able to grind it all back XDD
That's a very generous gesture but you don't have to donate all your mesos. any contribution is appreciated
Its ok , I don't see myself using my mesos anytime soon so I might as well use it for the greater good (>^.^)-b
The reason why we are choosing to hold a fundraiser for these fellow community members is because they were scammed in a way that was unforeseeable. In many scam cases, such as leech or drop trading, it can be avoided by checking the forums, or not being lazy and doing the trade the normal way. In this case however, Haul was a rather well known, old member of the community and was not linked to those types of activities, so there was no way that this could have truly been avoided. Even within his guild, I am told he was always very generous and helped others out a lot, raising 0 suspicion. As that is the case, we have chosen to help these fellow members because they couldn't have seen it coming. Perhaps if another well known, respected member of the community does this in the future (which I certainly hope will never happen) perhaps we would raise a fundraiser, but for every scam issue, I do not foresee a fundraiser happening because with a little effort, it can be avoided 99% of the time. I say 99% because this type of deal is part of that 1%. Also, if you could please read the rest of his paragraph, he explains why he has chosen to do it for these 3 members particularly.
