Since I downloaded the new MAC client (the first client with the new .wz edits) I have dc'd at every single zakum run I have gone to. This was before, not a problem. I have run on windows parallels and I haven't dc'ed, but every time I run on MAC I get 1 frame per 10 seconds in the first 5 minutes and I DC. This is a very new problem which occurred as soon as I downloaded the new client. I know this has been happening to other MAC users swell, who struggle to keep connected during Zakum runs (including GM Aly and Zoink). I know this is probably a hard fix, so I was wondering if there was a copy of the old MAC client that I could use for Zakum runs. Thanks. I would like to re-iterate that this has only become a problem for me since the first download with the .wz edits (for MAC)
What is interesting is that I have not touched the EXE distributed to everyone, just changed the WZ files contained in the folder. In addition, the EXE Wineskin uses to run Maple on the MAC is the exact same EXE distributed to Windows users as well. I can't give out the "older" client because there was no older client, the EXE has stayed the same :S
)': So I have to keep running it in windows? Because for since June i've been doing zak fine till now. So I doubt it is pure coincidence.
I also am finding it hard to understand how the wz edits would suddenly make you start d/c'ing at zak. If anything I thought you would d/c immediately or at least in a certain pattern with a specific error code. Probably -21477126332 or whatever. Do we know others on a mac which also has this problem?
Sven has this problem and Aly warped to Zakum and had the same problem. We get no error code, you literally get 1 frame per 10 seconds. The periods then start to increase to 15, 20, 25, 30 seconds till you eventually disconnect. Another pattern is that I tend to hit 0,1,6,7,3,2 damage on crits even though it shows normal damage for other people, and also the black pixels sometimes appear. I also know icy hot dc'd at the last zrun and she was on MAC but I don't know if she had the same problem, last zrun I went to, 4 people were on MAC clients and 0 survived. I think it might have something to do with the new client that came with the edits.
Yeah I can confirm this, for around 2 weeks now, I haven't been able to complete a single zak run. Most of the d/c's are the graphic settings related one, where pixels bug out all over the screen. You can often prevent it once or twice by changing the gfx settings while its happening, but it WILL strike again and the response time WILL be shorter. So far I have barely been able to get past the zakum arms without getting cluster-fucked (excuse my language) by one type of d/c or the other. My zakum helmet and ACA are proof that this wasn't the case before. Im not sure what has been changed in the mac client past three weeks, but I think you're biggest hint for a solution will be that a month ago this problem was non-existent.
Mac user here, dc'd at the start of a zakum run. Pretty much all windows users stayed in the run. This isn't pure coincidence, something is wrong!
I am also having the same problem. When I used my mac (running on mavericks) on zruns I would d/c in the very beginning (less than 1min). My screen would freeze, sometimes black out, then the whole program just crashes (without an error code). With the mac, i have d/c'ed every single time (~5 rums). Then I tried it on an old PC and I have not encountered any problems yet.
Do these glitches happen at any other point in the game? In FM or some other heavily mob infused map? I cannot think of what could cause this, especially since as I said, as far as I'm aware, the MapleRoyals.exe file has not been changed.
It only happens at Zakum for me. Even at a snowblower map with 80 people I don't have the same problem. John you have a MAC! You should come on a run No one on a MAC has been able to successfully complete zakum since the Christmas patch/.Wz edits/New setup.
It has happened to me a few times with the snowman, but if I stay out of the action (not directly next to the snowman) I don't d/c. But when I did d/c at the snowman, it was similar to what happens during a zrun (slow frames, screen blacks out, the whole program crashes)
Bump. So i just got 4th job (hero), and one of our main skills is Advanced Combo attack. ACA 10 is only available from Zakum, and i only play Royals on my MAC. So at the moment there is no possible way for me to get ACA, and was wondering if you guys could look into this more to see whats the problem. It would be much appreciated.
John, if you do indeed have a MAC, I suggest you come sit in during a zakum run and see if you get the same disconnection issue.
Actually, I was going to ask a Mac user that runs into this issue if they could follow the instructions provided here http://wineskin.urgesoftware.com/tiki-index.php?page=How+do+I+get+and+see+Log+files and provide me with the log file after the program crashes on them. I'm not sure if this will provide any useful information, but I figured it won't hurt trying. NOTE: To get to the Wineskin.app program, right click on the MapleRoyals icon and select Show Package Contents. Then follow the linked instructions.
Anyone have a solution to this? Been d/cing at zakum after arms die. Some pixels goes black then my whole screen goes full retard.
I experience that I dc when an arm dies and its not connection error or something, but wine will crash. If graphics are high I get the pixel problem, if graphics are low I stay in it for a longer time, but then wine crashes at a later stage. Next time I'll try to get a log file. I also tried to dedicate more cpu and memory to wine without any luck. I've messed around with wine settings and I'm pretty sure that's where the problem is. I got rid of the pixels, but that's when wine started crashing. I'll try to get you some logs, John.
That sounds like you need to change your GFX. After the arms and each body you need to change the graphics setting down one. So by 3rd body you're graphics are all the way down.
