Hi all, I wanna create a marksman, so then I have read some guides and it says that I should add INT in early levels for HP washing but... I DONT LIKE THAT. I have a BM friend who also added 200int first. I just wanna play as a normal bowman. I have INT GEAR so I can wear it every lvl up... is it okay?
You don't need to put AP into INT if you have great gear, but I'd still recommend adding AP into INT early on because leveling never gets easier and you might as well get the bonus MP. If you haven't already, check out @Gossamer's guide for more info on HP washing. It has some calculations for archers that you may find useful. http://royals.ms/forum/threads/hp-washing-for-new-players.41129/
It should be fine, but if you're strictly using gear, chances are you won't be able to do Horntail without Hyper Body. Plan accordingly when starting a new main.
So please let's clarify this: - In my opinion, adding INT if u are not mage is something "non-mapler", I think it's the worst think to do in this world XD (just an opinion) - So can I play my marksman normally and just wear GODLY INT GEAR since lv 10? I'm worried about that. Thnx
The best you can do with just using Int gear might be fighting Horntail without Hyper Body, but if you want to fight Horntail or get your base HP higher than 8k, you'll have to put AP into Int.
So your goal is to not use base Int to HP wash, right? The most you can get with no Int investment is around 7k HP, which isn't enough to tank Horntail's Magic Attack.
I think it's base on your objective on this server. Example: If you are only planning on playing it normally and get to lvl 200 without worrying about whether you can get into a HT party easily then you can wash it minimally. If your purpose for this character is to go for HT and worrying about whether you can get accepted easily well then you should start washing intensively. In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with adding INT into non-mage character. There are reasons why they allow this features. 1. If all characters are fixated to only able to add their core stats like what you think of a "mapler" game should be, there is no reason to put in the stat pumping feature. They can just programme the game in a way that they add stats for you automatically for every lvl up or maybe allows you to add between 2 cores stat which makes it less fun because the only thing to differentiate your damage and your peers of same lvl would be mainly your equipment. 2. it gives us the variety of choices how we want to build our characters. If we diligently add int during our early lvl, it gives us the privilege to have higher hp via hp washing as compare to our peers who play them normally. For your second point, like I said, it depends on your objectives.
My thought on that is the HP wash just disbalances the jobs. Is well known that NL are the best DPS job in MS, but they are also the less HP they have. IF they washes HP so they are the GODS on this server, that for me is bad (srry for bad english). But like I said, it's just an opinion
Well not true. When you add int into your stats, it pose a certain degree of difficulty into your training (I believe this is what you are worrying about and that is why you created this thread) But that's the price to pay for higher hp than your peers who plays normally (not forget mention about the payments for your int gear). Just like you pay higher price for better equipment to get greater damage. If you compare with warriors/ Buccaneer: They have higher health gain per level ( because of max hp improve skill) or per stat point when you add them. In addition they have very little mp reduction for every ap reset you use for hp washing. So they can get 20k hp easily If you compare with mages: They have magic guard( convert 80% of the damage received into mp reduction) and mathematically they should gives you the ability to take 5x the damage of your hp. Archers/ Corsair belong to the NL category in this case because they require as much effort to wash as NL to get the close result. Great that you share your opinions and get us thinking on how this game can be played better
