Did anyone else watch this video back in the day? I remember starting when Windia was the newest world and getting to level 30 and my first 1 million Mesos was a huge accomplishment. I remember watching this YouTube video and deciding to make an Assassin. Those were the good old days and I wish I could relive this nostalgia. If anyone is interested I think it may be nice for us to come up with a new game "challenge" to try and bring back this nostalgia even more than what MapleRoyals currently provides. I was thinking of things such as not using NX (I remember never having NX and looking like a fool with the Amoria quest haircut) and not trading with people not involved in the "challenge" or trading at all so whats rare and valuable is a 20 luck sauna robe instead of a 20 attack Pink Gaia Cape. These are just a couple of suggestions to try and bring back the nostalgia. If anyone else has any suggestions and/or may be interested please feel free to post. If you are not interested and prefer to play the game as is, please remember that everyone is entitled to their opinion and preferences, so if you do choose to voice your opinion please do it politely.
Thank you for your suggestion. I have looked into the ironman challenge, however, it is not what I am looking for. I am looking to party with people, to do boss runs with people, I am not looking to remove player to player interactions. I would like to just make the game as interesting as it was when I played 9 years ago. I no longer feel compelled to play as there are basically guidelines on how you must play in order to compete. To be good you need to HP wash most characters. If you don't train in a specific crowded map your training will take much longer. Attack is the most important stat and everything else is negligible. I don't remember any of that and I really don't like it. I am looking for old school maple, and I was wondering if anyone else is too.
I don't think any servers exist for what you are looking for. Reasons being that they don't attract enough players to be able to sustain the server costs, and also there are no good public sources for a version like this, so one would probably need to be coded from scratch.
Thank you Matt for your reply. I am not looking for an alternate server. I have enjoyed my time here and really appreciate the community and the professional nature of the staff. I have found myself growing bored of the server as my time to play is very limited due to IRL work and social obligations. I feel as if I must play a certain way that is clearly advantageous in terms of advancement in the game, and it's not the way I remember. I really do enjoy MapleRoyals and I am just looking to spice up my game play with some old school nostalgia. I was doing some quests in Ludibrium recently and it reminded me of this video. The nostalgia rushed back and I was looking to see if anyone else felt the same and would like to create a community that would play the game with nostalgic limitations. I understand that there is not a high demand for this, and that is the reason why a previous version server does not exist. At the end of the day, I will likely start to play this way and see if I can achieve greater fulfillment and I was just looking for some people to join if there is even a small interest. Again, I do appreciate your feedback and your taking the time to reply!
That video had become so famous throught the years that every one watches it whenever they want to see an example of nostalgia from MapleStory. And I can't blame them, there's not many maple videos that can give as many feelings as this one gives.
I am totally interested in this. I will be making a hermit this way no funding or anything just a fresh start because of your post <3 Drop your IGN and I will add you
This is a bit off-topic from that video (admittedly I haven't seen that one yet), but I do remember seeing this one: I was just curious as to whether anyone else has seen this video? I remember watching it years ago and it being my inspiration to try and get a Priest for that Shining Ray (failed obviously). And that music too..
Ah, DJ StevieV's Running On Empty. Oldschool MapleStory Anthem! I remember this video all too well. It made gave me a lot of motivation in making my Bishop. Also this video introduced this song to me and I've loved it ever since. My old maple friend and I would talk with eachother on the phone and she could sing this flawlessly ! Too many memories come from this video for me!
This video killed me I was like 12 years old and I put this song into my iPod and that's when I started listening to Japanese music
Yeah. The OP's great. The anime... I never got into it haha. But yeah. Same here! My first exposure to Japanese music as well.
