I think the idea is fun and voted yes for that reason. That said this isn't going to do anything to reduce the influx of nx and the devaluing of chaos and whites that comes with it . Alot of people rely on gach as a crutch when they suck at making gold. Those people will keep gaching. The people doing this will be those that already have decent shit and want some rare items like chairs, nx and other bs. The vast majority of players are going to gach over this. The idea is dope for us diehards but unless we remove gach and other non cosmetics from the cs or adjust the droprates/prices of gach/non cosmetics those chaos/whites are going to come down hard. I still want the lottery just very doubtful this will impact the economy at all. tdlr; idea is fun, but don't implement it hoping for it to positively affect the economy in any significant way If they aren't paying irl money for the nx it isnt p2w. Not saying you should do this, but having prizes with meso value would be the only way to pull a significant number of people away from gach.
I'd happily take part every time it was running but it's unlikely I'd spend the full 30k limit, I like to keep majority of my NX for a rainy day just incase I really want to spend it on something else on the future, not like I have millions of it stashed away anyway. If anything it'll have a positive impact on the community market as I expect less would be spent on Gach to take part in this event and if all prizes are untradeable I really don't see the harm in it. I know it was mentioned above that people wouldn't take part because they get no financial benefit from it but I don't think that's true, there's loads of people who will happily take a gamble for fun or item that is not common.
I would love to take part in the lottery even though we would only get cosmetic and untradable items. This would be a fun way to get some non common items to add to your collection. And since I love to collect certain items (chairs for example), I would definitely try to get at least 1-5k NX for lottery tickets besides spending it on Gach. And I think I won't be the only person to exchange buying some Gach tickets for buying some lottery tickets. With the prizes being untradable, I don't see any harm in this event being added.
How this would be held is not the topic of the thread. Please keep it on topic about if you would participate and why/why not.
Sounds like a great idea! I would hope that the items are at least transferable to other characters of the same account though, since winning will likely be a rare thing and it would kind of unfortunate if only one of our characters could reap the cool look.
I believe it would be like the untradeable christmas chairs and you would need to join the event or specify which character you wanted on and it would be for that char only. Of course, the idea isn't set in stone either so it may be possible to do something via cash shop transfer in the new source. Thanks for your feedback!
Sounds like a great idea! But more info as to how this lottery would work please! Would the prizes be specified before the lottery or only after? I think specifying beforehand would be better, that way, those who already have those items can choose not to play for that round.
So if you knew someone bought 2 million powerball jackpot tickets and you were intending to buy one, you wouldn't anymore?
If someone spent 2m (which is a logically unsound investment to put in 2m towards a lottery+ people also usually don't carry around 2m dollars worth of available funds), yeah I probably wouldn't bother buying tickets anymore. On the other hand, the odds for our lottery would be significantly lower than the powerball so it would be even MORE discouraging if I knew someone put in 2m nx worth. The powerball had millions of people buying tickets. If everyone playing at a peak time joined in, MapleRoyals would only have about 1150 people buying tickets. Having it spread out amongst a significantly smaller pool of people just makes it that much easier for someone with a lot of nx to win and I think this should be a fair event that everyone should get to participate in without feeling discouraged about others having an unfair advantage. While I'm not opposed to different cap limit ideas, I'm pretty set on the idea of a cap so that all players who haven't had as much time to build up an nx pool can join as well.
