bypass zakum Prequet 2 jump quest for XXX amount of mesos

hello Royaplers!
this day i come with this suggestion, pass the Zakum prequest 2 - Jump Quest of the Horror!
i was thinking: why the admins-programers add the bypass this quest with X amount of mesos.
i know alot of people going to said: that is a cheat....NO, or NO WAY i been X hours or days traing to pass that quest ...NO WAY, or for classic player: "this server is for remember the old good maple BLA BLA BLA".... come on half people think about that not bad idea... but people have the last word and the admins have the command

Absolutely not, why should people be able to just pay to skip something? The game is supposed to be challenging, not everything should be able to be handed to you immediately.

 

We pay to skip the boat wait....

 

And I don't think you should do that either. I've been pushing to eliminate that in the new source as well

 

Completely different. One leads to end game content, the other travels between continents.

I think I can give some feedback on this issue. I once wrote a thread asking for an alternative to the ZJQ back in August. http://royals.ms/forum/threads/zakum-jump-quest-alternative.34629/

When I first wrote the thread, I had never completed the JQ on my own. I had spent countless hours, trying to complete just the first stage of the JQ, and would eventually give up. I always ended up having a friend do it for me. I swore Id never be able to do it. But somehow, after watching other people do it, it happened. I completed the JQ for the first time ever the day after I wrote the thread after trying for hours. It took me 10 minutes on my first attempt the following day to complete it. I have since then completed it on 3 other characters in roughly the same length of time as the first attempt. Sure I get stressed out, but knowing I can do it, just makes it more satisfying. The JQ can go to hell, but at the same time, I defeated it, and I feel a sense of accomplishment that nothing else in Maplestory can relate too. Paying to get around it, completely defeats the point of feeling even the slightest bit of progression in your character.

While I still think an alternative to the JQ would be nice, I know longer hold as strong of a distaste for the JQ as I have defeated it on multiple occasions and believe the JQ is an important piece of Maplestorys gameplay.

 

I hope you're talking about a game other than Royals because this would fall under account sharing as well.

I agree that it's okay to have the boat be skippable because tp rocks are also such a prevalent commodity. To be honest, I tend to walk because it's a LOT cheaper, but I know I would buy the tp rocks to skip a 15 minute ride, every single time. I also find that price tag a bit high for newer players and hope that we can keep the option to skip (with a price that is a median between tp rocks such as 1m), but that's an argument for a different thread.

I would never agree to removing the ZJQ no matter how many hours I've spent raging over it (and I've spent hours) because it is such a fundamental part of the game and opens up, like Rob said, end game content.

To be fair i did leave that important piece out of my response in this thread. Thankfully I did mention account sharing on gms but not here in my thread from august tho so unless you read that one too you would have missed it!

Other pay to skip features are not relevant to Zakum.
Since this thread is for skipping the Zakum Jump Quest lets keep it at that.

I think it would be a terrible idea, unless it cost 1b to skip it then I wouldn't mind, Meso Sink!
Mesos is so easy to get so why would you choose something that would be easy to do?

 

ok not use the mesos for skip... other quest then... or items but some ppl hate Jump quest....

 

It's a fundamental part of the game that gives access to end game content. It won't be removed just to make it easier on people, especially when this game is easier than old gms. I have yet to see a legitimate excuse as to why it should be removed. "People hate it" and "It's too hard" are not legitimate reasons to remove it. That's people wanting an easy way out.

I've spent hours trying to finish it too and I understand how frustrating it is, but unless a good reason can be brought up as to why we should allow people to skip, I can let you guys know right now that this will probably never happen.

 

@Jeen there are some known legitimate reasons, someone from the staff can probably fill you in on that. Aside from that, good post.

 

I thought @Katsuruka was working on an alternative for that JQ in the long run?

iirc it was gonna be a very long and 'difficult' quest (difficulty is a very relative term in this game)

It sounded very interesting, and imo would be a MUCH better way to resolve this issue than just paying some mesos to skip it.
