Oh yeah, sorry read it while I was really sleepy. I voted for a change anyway. But I hope teeth and toe drops include all boss drops, because I know from experience that leviathan, zakum, and papulatus drops can be as bad as gms/ems.
I understand where you're coming from Matt, and I actually voted for the decreased drop rate. However, if people vote to keep the droprate the same, I suggest possibly giving us command shop, so we can just npc it really quickly. Now, I'm not talking about a fancy NLC shop or anything, just something to NPC what we don't want. That way, we're more prone to pick up our drops and get rid of them. Solves: Lag from ignored drops Solves: Filled up slots Will: Give people more mesos to put into the economy Won't: Make any equips more attractive in the fm shops, though
i think 3x would still be to high.. it takes 5 minute to fill our inventory of crap and get 5mil just by vendoring everything... i think 1x~2x would be just fine if it is possible to cut the crap items from dropping (half of the items are grey..) and increase ''good'' items rate so that when we loot something it might actually be worth picking up.
so ill be farming peeps for a red katana. wont the drop rate of items be 3x mean that less katans will drop? how do i still have the same chance to get a "godly item" katana?
Unless you planned on keeping Mastery Book and scroll drop rates the same like you are with godly items, I'm still staunchly against this as is, clearly, the majority of the server.
Depends which scrolls and mastery books you are talking about... I mean a bishop doing genesis at skeles... they find Angel Ray 20 (for example) every few attacks lol... Pretty rubbish in my opinion o_o
Im all for trying out 3x atm the fm is saturated with scrolls most people with a couple 100+ characters have like 50+ wand attacks from time spent at GS and they sell for nothing
50? I guess that depends on the actual time spent there but I doubt these people got 50 of these scrolls in a matter of hours
Ok, obviously there are some scrolls that are more common drops than others. You could spend hours at wolf spiders and fine 0 30% spear att scrolls. And as for mastery books, what about things like brandish 20? Ty says he spent over an hour farming for it at dark wyverns and couldn't find it, and I've been at dark wyverns for almost 3 hours and I've only found one battleship cannon and no brandishes, and you want to basically cut the drop rate on those in half? That'll be a nightmare, and the majority of the server clearly agrees.
If people think there is an error with a droprate chance or want me to check it they should let me know. After seeing what you have said there, I have just checked the droprate chance for Dark Wyverns which is 10000 compared to Crimson Guardians which is 777. In English this means, with the current droprate, Dark Wyverns will drop it on average 1 in 2000 kills where crimson guardians will drop it 1 in 155 kills. I think there is an extra 0 on the droprate chance for Dark Wyverns be the looks of it.
Hmh, the equip drops seem to be alright, but ST from crow is finding to be quiet difficult, aswell as rarer skill books (cannon 30, aca 20, ect) And still not one gene 20 drop in all the zakum runs classic has done (20+)
Equip drop is horrible for me. In the several hours four of us spent at Dark Cornians and Newties we got 1 Concerto and it was way below average. I think a poll should be opened to take opinions of the altered drop rate now that we've tested it, because several people have told me that they'd like to switch votes.
Okay so I have a few things to say about this drop rate. I was for it at first but now that we tested it, I don't really think it's too good. I'm gonna list the positives from the first post and then talk about each one. 1) Helping the economy regain it's feet. I don't really see any positive thing in FM after this was done. If anything, the FM is the same. Maybe certain scrolls are priced higher now. 2) Helping your inventories not get filled up so fast. Yes, our inventories fill up slower but that's a negative thing. Most people are more concerned with the quick money from NPC'ing stuff. As a bishop, I made like 20-30m per full inventory at skeles which took like 30 minutes to an hour. Now it takes longer. And for me and many others, that's a negative. 3) Possibly make stuff that currently people leave lying on the ground actually worth selling in the FM, or at least to NPC's. Equips haven't gained any special importance that they didn't have earlier either. Unless they are godly, they're gonna get NPC'd.. regardless of the drop rate. 4) Slightly reduce map lag where so many items are dropping and being left on the ground. Also, for me and many others (most likely), the map lag was never a problem. I don't recall ever lagging from dropped items and how much lag can possibly be reduced by this change anyways? Pets to loot items can solve this problem too I think. Well, that's my position on the topic. I also agree with David that new poll should be taken now that we have tried the new drop rate. Also, I'm not demanding anything or asking for a change. I'm just putting out what I've found over the past few days. The rest is up to you I'm fine with this too since the server is so awesome, this is just a minor set back but it does make a difference. Thanks for reading my huge wall of text.
Gachapon has not been changed yet and I am yet to put scrolls into PQ's and do a few fixes to the non fully working PQ's... So I don't think it would be fair to come to conclusions just yet. Although I am aware that some monsters, namely in leafre and in ludi, their droprates are currently too rare and were still rare before the drop rate change so am thinking about making a change to these monsters.
Yes the drop rate of the monsters in Leafre is killing me. Spent a few more hours at newties and found no Concertos or Bullseye 20. Went to Red Wyverns for another hour and still have yet to find Battleship Cannon 30 either. I agree with Sweg on the points that map lag was never a big deal for anyone I talked to, equips aren't worth anything unless they're godly because the only equips people care enough to pay a fair amount for are their endgame ones and they want those to be godly. I don't really see any change at all in the FM yet, but I guess we should wait for gachapon rebalance (COUGH SINGAPORE PLEASE) to make any final judgement calls about that. As far as the inventory thing, I'm fairly sure this was aimed at primarily Bishops, and all of them were fine with their inventories filling up since they could just door themselves to town and NPC what they got.
I was thinking of adding a ~npc command to open up an empty shop to npc stuff too, would that be a good idea?
i got brandish 20 in 5 minutes... including a few other skill books... ~Npc wouldnt be a bad idea! it would help a lot and save slots and time. When you dont have a bishop its quite annoying to go back to sell everything specially when you train at places that are long to walk to
I know Ty hunted for Brandish 20 for at least an hour with no success and Mily hunted for several hours and didn't get it so I'm thinking you just got very lucky Term. Anyways if nothing else I definitely think the drop rates of some things in Leafre should be raised (AND MAYBE GENE 20 FROM ZAK BECAUSE OH MY LANTA WHERE IS THAT SKILLBOOK AND IF IT FAILS I THINK SAKI WILL QUIT LOL). Regardless I like the ~npc idea to sell items, although that would just be another reason to go back to 5x since inventories filling up would no longer be an issue.
I am probably going to lower the droprates for leafre and ludi by a bit soon, because they do seem pretty rediculously high. I think I stated earlier in the thread that the chance for a book was like 1 in 3000 or so. Although I do think that books should still not be easily obtainable so still dont expect to find one within an hour or so. It is all based on luck in the end. Even if it was 1 in 500, you could still kill 10,000+ monsters and still not find it. They need to be rare but not super rare, if we want the books to be worth anything. Otherwise anyone will just think they can just go and farm the book themselves really quickly.
