I recently got a HP Notebook/laptop, and it won't run mapleroyals when i run it has administrator. It is windows 10. I've disabled all of my anti-virus's, and the setup worked fine. I set the compability mode to windows 7, because it has worked in the past. I'm having trouble on what steps to take to fix this issue, as I reaaaaaaaaaaaaally want to play mapleroyals. It will not start at all.
Anything over windows 7 always has problems, you just got to keep switching the compatibility until it works, like try Windows 95, Windows Vista etc eventually it should work (at least for me)
Did you try starting Royals without using compatibility mode? I'm able to start Royals without using any compatibility mode on my W10 pc. I do have to say I get error messages for invalid pointer and that Royals might be having a server check, but after a few tries I get to the log in screen without any issues. However I'm not sure if this will fix your issue.
Ah! I got something out of your method, and I thank you for this! But...Unforunatly, I got this following error; Failed in finding proper screen mode for Gr2D. What steps should I take now? do you know?
I haven't really come across that error on my pc. So I don't really have an idea how you could fix this. Maybe you could try to search the forums if there are any fixes for the Gr2D error you're recieving. Else you will have to wait until a GM is able to help you out.
Intel or AMD? you got to find out and go to their official website, there are programs you can download that will check everything for you and download and install the correct drivers. I was having that same error myself with windows 7, tuns out I needed to update my graphics driver and then I was finally able to play. Make sure when you use the program and scan for drivers, you check the "Older drivers" tab not just the "latest drivers". I've done that and completely missed the update for my graphics driver and thought I couldn't play MapleStory for 3 days. AMD: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/auto-detect-tool INTEL: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html I would try and contact them for you in game but i'm not sure if that's against the rules. They will come when they see your post.
Alright I have Intel, I've attempted the scan, and It says that I don't have any of the drivers...when Mine is Intel HD 5500, My graphics hardware, my proccessor is also intel... What am I missing? I must be skipping over something.
I feel so stupid. Do I need to find the correct drivers for my Intel HD graphics driver 5500? Is that what I'm missing? If so, I feeeeeeel incredibly stupid.
After the scan, does it look something like this? you should be able to just click download and once everything is finished, click install on each of them until they are done (remember to check older drivers tab too) if it just says you don't have any drivers and doesn't show you any drivers that you have or need along with the option to install then i'm not too sure what's wrong other than maybe you do have all the correct drivers. If none of this works, maybe reinstall direct x and mapleroyals again, restart and test it out. When you clicked on Setup.exe, what did it say exactly? "This monitor sets your monitor frequency" bla bla bla then click "no" and a screen should appear telling you to push a certain command if you can see it, once you do it should say "Changed frequency to 1hz" or something along the lines of that. I've never seen it say anything about direct x before unless you clicked something else but I could be wrong. One more thing I suggest trying: Right click desktop>personalize>Display>Change Display settings>Advanced Settings> Troubleshoot tab> then click on Change settings. Now drag hardware accelaration all the way up or all the way down depending on where it is. Restart your comp then try to run MapleRoyals... if it doesn't work you can put it back to where it used to be s
How do you reinstall directX? Tried reinstalling mapleroyals, selecting Setup (not Setup.exe, just Setup.) and it said "Unable to gather system information. Please make sure you have DirectX 8.1 and above installed." and I have direct 11. I have a Intel HD Graphics card, so I cannot preform the desktop method. And The intel thing says I have no drivers installed for this computer...when Infact, I do. I might just contact Geek Squad, and see what they can do, as I've been having this issue with all maplestory private servers (all of them unable to start up.)
