I hunted him yesterday and today and I only found 2 (both from yesterday). obviously neither of them dropped the key or I wouldn't be here. is there like a special Jr.Balrog I have to kill in a portal somewhere that only drks can enter, or do I have to camp the normal one?
The Key is from regular Jr Balrogs. Though the droprate is high, it's not 100%. The normal one only spawns once per server restart (it's a bug which causes him not to respawn ever.) You can get the key from the Jr Balrog that comes from the Black Sack as well.
If my memory serves me correctly, black sacks are obtainted from guild party quest (gpq). They are probably around 25m each at the moment as I haven't seen many around.
I never knew there was a bug with Jr. Balrog not respawning. It might have something to do with the map not having any other monsters in it, or we have the respawn time set incorrectly (doubtful). Or I guess there's no bug and they just get killed quickly.
Yeah... Why isn't this getting fixed yet? I don't have enough money to buy any Black Sacks (They are priced at 60mil in FM), and the chances that I'll be able to play right after a server check is low. Shouldn't there be GM support for this?
If you have a proper suggestion on how to fix this issue then be my guest. However the only current temporary solution I could think of is adding a different monster spawn to the room Jr Balrog spawns in. I do want to point out though that you are in no way forced to buy a black sack for 60m from the market, as we have stated several times you can obtain them yourselves as long as you have a guild that wants to GPQ. If GPQ isn't your thing you can also get them from Sleepywood Gachapon as Plenty suggested earlier in this thread.
I see no problem with adding a single Tauromacis to spawn on one of those upper platforms in the meantime. I just think that it's silly that you are forced to do at least one of these much more far-reaching alternatives. My current options are waiting for a server check that's done soon enough around my playing time before someone manages to kill all of them, or focusing all of my voted NX on Sleepywood Gachapon hoping I get the Black Sack, and then hoping the Jr. Balrog will actually drop the key... I'll see what I can do.
Go in with a cheap monster sack, kill the monsters and hopefully Jr. Balrog will spawn. Not 100% sure on this method because I've never done it, but it seems viable.
I tried I tried it before. I thought it was a great idea too, but I think boss spawning's are dependent on the killing of monsters that have a spawning place in the map. Thanks for the suggestion though.
My friend said he got a black sack from lpq, and showed me one too, hes my good irl friend so dont think hes lying.
That is correct. That's the reason why some people summon balrog in lpq waiting room, with or without knowing that there's a balrog in it.
