Hello! I'm Akira! <3

And to start, I apologize for such a belated introduction! I joined Royals in late January of this year. I had finished all my studying for my classes in the first few weeks of the semester and as I thought of something to pass the time as I waited for finals, I suddenly remembered, with very, very fond nostalgia, my childhood days playing GMS. My account had been hacked long ago and my characters deleted, so I created a new account. I was surprised and saddened to see how Maple had changed. For being an MMORPG, Maple is now a very solo game. The community has died with everyone aiming to solo bosses with 2m-2m range and 50m cap damage. Level 200 which was such a celebrated accomplishment is now meaningless and can be reached in a day. There are over thirty classes now and endless gear upgrades with RNG, especially cubing, taking over game progression. I quit in a day when I realized how pay2win Maple had become and everyone I knew was long gone. I had a faint memory of people talking about private servers when I played GMS, and I found Royals when I looked into the Gtop 100 rankings. I joined on a whim, expecting to leave in a few days. How wrong I was. I have made so many wonderful friends. This game and the people who play it are very dear to me. I think in real life, there's quite a bit of artifice in day-to-day interactions. There are unwritten, unsaid social rules that govern our lives. It's difficult to be yourself, it's difficult to get to know others, it's difficult to make friends. There's some expectation of an excuse, a pretext for even saying hello and starting a conversation with someone. But Royals affords a degree of anonymity that gives people freedom from binding social conventions. For all the fun I have in this game slacking, grinding, bossing, it also balances with real life. But enough of my musing!

I was born in Aomori prefecture but moved to the US when I was 12 and, now 20, live in LA. I'm a university student going to law school to become a civil rights lawyer. I love learning and revel in knowledge, memorizing obscure and esoteric things just to test the limits of my own mind. I'm fluent in both English and Japanese, and with my love of languages, I've learned their sign languages, Braille, semaphore, and Morse/Wabun codes. I'm quite odd, really. You'll see me almost always use proper English. Almost always.

I'm the person who uses caps to say hi to everyone who logs on, complains about chat spam because I have five or more conversations at once at any given time, and leveled so fast that other people call me a hacker. When chatting, I'm known for emoticon abuse, when bossing, I'm known for being a decent (not pro, F3) bishop, and when grinding, I'm known for leeching friends for hours and never getting tired. When I hit 200, I have no plans to make any other characters. I always have and always will main bishop. I want to spend my days at KPQ, LPQ, PPQ, APQ, random Krex runs, random Zak runs, HT runs with friends and guildies, echoing random FM channels, and camping Lith Harbor to meet new players who just get off the ship and spend the day with them to make them feel welcome! Oh and GPQ. But everyone knows Acme doesn't GPQ. Acme is just a bunch of trolls. I was kicked all day every day from that guild until I made junior. ;~; But on a more serious note, I'm happiest when helping others! I spend a lot of time on the shoutbox and on forums. But I wouldn't apply for staff. I like being a regular player, just helping out fellow regular players. And I still have too much I want to accomplish in this game, like perfecting mage gear. Hehehe. <3

I'm the type to strike up conversation with randoms, and whether you want to talk about Pokemon Yellow and Missingno., Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump, or anything at all about this game, I'm always very, very happy to chat!
