Ive noticed that there are no dexless claws after lvl 64. but you guys have the last dexless claw which is the ravens claw, it requires dex. in pre big bang in 08 it never required dex to use. why did you make it a requirement?

my bad i got mixed up with the night raven, are there going to be any additional changes, as having 150 dex takes away at least 30 wep att, so the death of the pure luk sin is less obvious earlier on when you figure out there are no dexless claws past 64. or is this it?

by lvl 100 you wanna be wearing a red craven like most hermits, there's no dexless claw after maple skanda and your primary stat is weapon attack so you wanna be wearing a ''normal'' claw when you're a higher lvl, one that requires dex, usually people get zhelmet dep star face acc item, scroll em with dex and add base dex to reach 120 dex and then wear the dark pirate pants/top for another 20 - that makes up 140 by then you can wear a red craven.
you could also go for sleeve's which require 10 dex more than red craven(150) and are cheaper when it comes to the same w.a but their lvl requirement is 110.
I also advise you to read what hp washing is if you haven't :), better now than when you're a higher lvl..

Like @Yan said, you can be dexless and still be able to wear a Dragon Sleeve with good end-game gear.

you're complaining about a class that definitely doesn't need a buff. boohoo u lose a few ap to luk, you're still outdpsing most classes.

yeah see thats another problem. i now have to find, buy or scroll perfect dex equips...and waste time and alot of dps. thats not the point here. the point is, I should be able to be presented with the option of remaining dexless or low dex, and not have to equip claws that req dex. And Im not complaining, I am simply asking why was this not presented as an option as it was implemented before v.62, as i should not be forced to make a low dex sin. it should be provided as an option on how *I* wanna play and enjoy the game, not because people want damage equality, sins were meant to do high dps and have an option of being dexless endgame, not a one way street bud, its a two way

yeah i understand i can be low dex, what i dont understand, is that raven equips came out out in v.59. when crimsonwood was released. why is it not here in v.62, so now i have to transition quickly to low dex instead of doing it comfortably, or remaining dexless. tbh we should have that option. why is there endgame weps favoring to low dex sins and none favoring to dexless. when mages have end game ele wands that req no secondary stat...why is there no night ravens claw..for endgame weapon for dexless sins..

that and also said ive noticed on this servers item library that your able to get dawn ravens wing for warrior. so i notice that this game pertains a little bit towards dmg equality, that being said if those weapons are implemented for warriors, why arent they implemented for bm or nls?

As far as I'm aware we have no raven weapons for any class obtainable in the game. Unless you would count the crossbow as a Raven coz it has it in its name : ^)

only reason why im asking is because you have the items in your item library on the website, and i dont wanna end up screwing up my dexless sin before you bring in the exchange quests that should have already been implemented. im not telling you guys how to do your job, but the true v.62 experience is what we all want correct? and in those days you could remain dexless, thank you for your time and consideration.

Well, if it makes you feel any better, Night Raven's Wing (the sword, and the only other Raven item worth giving a rat's ass over) isn't in this server either. I don't think the library is a 100% accurate way of judging what is/isn't in this server. For what it's worth, I agree that the true .62 experience should have everything that .62 had... but then again, a true .62 experience would be 1x rates and have pay to win aspects, so to an extent, there are some things that have been changed for the better. CWK Exchange quest is not one of them however, and I thought that was a minor, yet cool part of .62. It'll be nice to see that new source get released, if it ever does get released; I do wish that all of the content itself from .62 were in this server.

This is precisely why the original poster is asking about the Night Raven's Claw: because it's the only dexless claw in .62 after Skanda.

In regards to running the exact numbers, I did some math on the last server I played (where I played NL) and my conclusion was that the dexless claw actually comes out ahead of the Red Craven. (Throw in Timeless/Reverse however and the story is a little different; the level 120 claws edge out a little over the Night Raven's Claw). But consider these few factors when comparing the Night Raven's Claw with the Red Craven:
    1. Night Raven's Claw is 1 speed faster than the Red Craven. This itself is huuuuuuge, like the wall that Donald Trump wants to build.
    2. Assuming that both weapons can be affected by normal RNG permutations in addition to the godly system, the perfect Night Raven's Claw would have 49 (I think) attack, while the perfect Red Craven would have 55 attack. In short, Red Craven requires 115 more dex to wear, and only gives 6 more attack. In addition to this...
    3. Assuming you have to scroll equipment, such as earrings and overalls, with dex in order to wear your claw, this means that you could have instead scrolled a lot of this equipment with luk if you had elected to go dexless. And more luk = more dps.
    4. Assuming you also put some points in dex in order to equip your claw, this means that you're losing out on some extra luk that could've been gained via Maple Warrior, had you instead elected to go dexless. And more luk = more dps.
These factors when put together edged the Night Raven's Claw ahead of the Red Craven, and I believe even a little ahead of the Dragon Sleeves. So in the end, it would be something of a boost to dexless night lords if this claw were released. Given how absurdly OP Night Lords are in .62, however, I definitely think that wanting these weapons in Royals for the sake of nostalgia is a much more solid argument than saying that you want them in here to give Night Lords a boost.

But personally, I couldn't care less about the Claws. I just want that Night Raven's Wing, which, despite being ever-so-slightly worse than the fugly Stonetooth in terms of DPS, looks stylish and awesome. That's my main reason for wanting the CWK exchange quest, not to mention the traffic it would bring to the currently-neglected Nightshadow/Stormbreaker/Firebrand maps (and the currently-nonexistent Nightshadow/Windraider/Stormbreaker/Firebrand corridors within CWK). More options for training = good, especially in .62 where we otherwise only have 2 or 3 options for training from 120 to 200. I digress though.

Maple Pyrope Claw exists in this server from the anniversary event ages ago. It's just rare.
There is speed limit, with booster sin's already hit cap attack speed limit with a 'fast (4)' claw
it may be 115dex, but you're going to get extra dex from zhelm, horntail pendant, and armor along the way, even without scrolling them for dex specifically
I don't want to read the rest....... its a lot of text
    -skimp-
I think night raven's wing also look stylish an cool. I wanted the crimson arclancer bow in this server, but guess I have to wait =/
Donald Trump wants to build a wall? The titans must be coming.

Raven's claw is in the game (unless you were specifically talking about night versions.)

i just want this to be implemented because of nostalgia purposes, because back then, all you ever heard about was *dexless this and dexless that*, that being said we dont have that option to *remain dexless* and to me thats a huge chunk of nostalgia, im forced to go low dex, something i don't want to do, and am probably stubborn enough not to convert all the way to 200 even if my dmg is going to be shit*pardon my lang but its true* and i know myself aswell as a lot of other nl's I spoke with are not happy that they are forced to convert because of damage purposes..i am sure it would be a nice boost to player morale and community if we had these. i know its a private server and its not my call, but im sure we all want as close to the experience as possible, and to enjoy what maplestory used to be before it became corporate.

I don't understand what you mean with you can't go dexless, nearly every nightlord I see only has 25-35 base dex where 25 is the minimum allowed by game mechanics. You make it sound like you have to scroll for dex instead of for luk, but reality is that barely any item can be scrolled for luk anyway.

Let's just go over it real quick:
    • Helmets with in this case Zakum Helmets can only be scrolled for Int or Dex, this is an easy 30-42 dex.
    • Face Accessoires can only be scrolled for Dex, a decent maple leaf will get you an easy 10-14 dex.
    • Eye Accessoires can only be scrolled for Dex and Int, probably end up with a 1-6 dex at some point.
    • Earrings can be scrolled for Int, Dex and Luk, however barely anyone scrolls them for luk but it's still an easy 10-15 dex.
    • Tops can only be scrolled for Luk or Str, so this is an easy luk item.
    • Bottoms can only be scrolled for Dex, probably end up with 20-23 dex.
    • Shoes, Cape and Gloves are always scrolled to have attack, so no luk or dex there.
    • Pendants can only be chaosed, except for the HTP that can be egged once for an additional 15 all stats which makes an easy 23-28 dex and luk.
    • Weapons are all scrolled to have +luk so there's no choice there either.
    • Most rings can't be scrolled as they don't have any slots, you can chaos scroll the Almighty Ring and that's about it.
With this said I don't really understand what you mean with this:
Based on what I just said about most items not being able to be scrolled for luk anyway, how exactly do you lose 30 weapon attack by scrolling for dex?

From what I read in this thread your complaint is that there's no dexless claws after the Maple Skanda which you believe renders you useless if you went with 25 dex and the rest of your points in luk. However several people have pointed you out that the majority of the players only has 25 base dex and are still able to equip every claw in the game. How exactly does it kill your damage? o_O

Even if you'd scroll an overall and an earring into perfection with 10/30% scrolls, it would still lower your damage compared to a craven.
You'd get like 50 luk from an overall and 15 luk from an earring, or 18 luk if you scroll a crystal leaf earring, but lose 6 attack compared to a craven or 10 attack compared to a sleeve. At the same time you could scroll a top to have 32 luk if you would use 10/30% scrolls while wearing pants with 9 luk so that would be 41 luk. So effectively you've swapped out 6 to 10 weapon attack to gain 24 luk which in no way possible is worth it. This means that even if we would implement the weapon, going for a luk overall and earring combined with a dexless claw would still be worthless. The build path you have mentioned will never work as long as we have the godly item system active.

For whatever reason when I made my last post, I seemed to forget about all the scrolls on this server that effectively give free dex; the last server I played on had zero economy and thus it was infeasible to get anywhere near the requisite 120-ish dex needed to equip Cravens. So you can disregard just about everything I said about the issue; hooray for the economy and its way of shoehorning every single person into a single build path. :p

I didn't know that we had the pyrope skanda, considering that I joined last month and am unfamiliar with every single other past event we've had. However, Night Raven's Claw is still higher base attack than the Pyrope Skanda, and further, my statement that "there is no dexless claw in .62 after skanda" is still technically correct, since I don't recall the Pyrope Skanda being in .62. As for the speed, I remember testing on the last server I played and I noticed a difference between Night Raven's Claw with and without booster, hence my statement that speed matters. As I have yet to create a NL on this server (and probably never will), I probably won't get along to testing it for myself.

I still think having the Night Raven's Claw would be a nice alternative option, especially to Night Lords who are starting out and do not have proper means to get the funding required for all these dex equips; I'd imagine that most Night Lords who start out don't have the wherewithal to scroll a zhelm, buy a deputy star, egg a horntail pendant, buy a 10 dex earring, and thus end up having to go with high base dex, only resetting their AP later once they're gotten their equips. Night Raven's Claw would somewhat help this issue, as it would be relatively easy to obtain and would be a transitional weapon up until you can afford the dex equips required for a sleeve/craven.

It'd ultimately represent an alternate option to what people currently do, and considering that it's part of .62, it's also nostalgic. I like options, I like nostalgia, and I'm sticking by this argument, even if the economy screws over the prospect of dexless claws as endgame equips.
