Is dragon strike bugged? When not using it on mobs, it seems to perform the action quickly. As soon as you use it on mobs, it slows down significantly.
Just hit 120, put a point in Dragon Strike, Energy Orb, and SI OKAY LADS. Huge issue here: When not casting Dragon Strike on mobs, it scales just fine with SI. In fact, the fluidity of using it is graceful. HOWEVER When using it ON MOBS, Dragon strike WITH SI slows down SIGNIFICANTLY. It gains a larger pause in between casting that is equal if not even SLOWER than Dragon strike WITHOUT SI. Like...making it nearly worthless. The hesitate in between its use is HUGE. The other issue is, Dragon Strike hits more targets than Energy Orb, while Energy orb actually scales in speed with SI, so it's not easy to simply switch out Dragon Strike with Energy Orb. And Dragon Strike has higher range. But Energy Orb almost triples the speed of Dragon Strike once scaled with SI. gg wp
The delay you're experiencing is pretty normal on v62. The idea is you're suppose to combo DragonStrike with other skills(Corkscrew and Barrage being the main ones) in order to optimize damage and iframes The delay gets quite a bit shorter in the new source.
However, are you saying that the speed scaling from SI is not supposed to affect it at all? Because the speed of both animation and pause in between dragon strike doesn't change whatsoever, SI or no SI. Will have a video uploaded shortly. If SI doesn't affect Dragon Strike at all, what's the point in even using Dragon Strike? By that logic, the skill itself is useless. Might as well go Energy Orb, since it has no delay and scales in speed with SI.
I was talking about the official servers. I assumed that SI would have some sort of impact on DRAGon strike, either in cast time or shortening the delay. But it apparently doesn't. Which means Energy orb is way better overall.
I'm gonna have to reinstall this game to see if it makes a difference or not, because I'm 99% certain Dragon Strike with SI makes a huge difference. Anyways, Energy Orb requires Energy Charge, whereas Dragon Strike doesn't and can easily be chained with other skills. Also, doesn't Energy Orb become weaker as it passes into each mob? Another thing, isn't Energy Orb shorter than Dragon Strike's attack range? I might be wrong since I never play anymore but I'm pretty sure this is right.
I kind of get what you're saying. Here's a comparison side by side with and without Speed Infusion: Without Speed Infusion: With Speed Infusion: It's slightly faster, but that short pause in the end of Dragon Strike with Speed Infusion is weird.
Energy orb needs energy charge, but SSK'ing 3 mobs brings you to max energy charge. While it is a shorter ranged skill, none of your other skills are long range, so to pair it with anything like barrage would require you to be close up anyways. And it didn't say anywhere in the description that energy orb becomes weaker as it passes through mobs. But yeah. I think I'm starting to see that. And I think that's the last straw for me. I'm done being a Bucc.
I just tested it out, and SI works with Dragon Strike. The animation and attack is faster. Energy Charge is going to be fixed once beta comes out to official servers, making it take much more hits to get your energy maxed out. Also, Energy Orb only works in beta. It shows the damage numbers in official, but it doesn't do any damage.
THIS IS AGGRAVATING I think I'll have to quit my bucc til new source comes out, then. What the hell am I going to do now that I've poured SP into energy orb. FUUUUUUCK.
If it's one point it's not a big deal. Calm down. You could use an SP scroll, but I wouldn't recommend it.
I mean, it's fine, I'll bear it, I just wish there was more clarity. I don't see why any skill should have some "hidden passive" that the player is not made aware of. I think the fact that damage is mitigated when hitting multiple targets is something that's important and should be stated in the skill's description. I also think it's a ridiculous passive, but that's beside the point. What's more important is clarity so that people that are new to brawlers fully understand what they're doing and aren't surprised by something like this later on, which could potentially have a major impact on their distribution of skill points.
Sorry for reviving the post. I have to agree that Buccs are terrible. But you need to know that they WERE terrible in GMS aswell (compared to other classes) until 2013 when they got revamped. Buccs have always been inferior to other classes when we talk about DPS. It's sad, but at least it's fun. It's the "least boring" class in the game. I gave up trying to do at least EQUAL damage to any other friend's class as a Bucc, because it's impossible. I just play for fun, because Buccs are terribly weak, not only on Royals, but in GMS too (until 2013). The fact that essential skills are bugged or glitched makes it even harder to swallow, but that's the way it is, and I really really really hope everything is fixed when the beta is live. Untin then. Play for fun, mate.
Yes, nothing has changed. Their damage is low-tier but that comes with the territory of having a good party buff.
