Since I've realized for quite some time that there really aren't many people willing to help axe warriors on the server, I figure I'd help any up-and-coming axe heroes by giving away equips that I scrolled/obtained during my leveling. I'd Love to have some of these items as a fighter-crusader to be. I'm only level 23 atm, would I be able to equip any of these?
Lowest item on here is the Maple Dragon Axe at lvl 43, you'll typically just get weapons from npcs until that level anyhow though.
Hi Shinobi, so after doing a bit of digging with some of the suggestions I made in that thread, I've come to the following stance: 1. Speed Boosting skill change for axe is very unlikely to happen since Tim addressed last year on a similar topic with paladin's that they were satisfied with the current 0.72/0.86 hybrid build incorporated into the server, and additional skill balances would not oçcur until the official client launches at the very least. 2. Damage recalculations are extremely difficult from a coding standpoint to fix on this current client build. Kevin would have an easier time doing such a change on the new client, and even then there's skepticism over meddling that deep into the code (for the time it would likely take at least), so this suggestion is a no-go at this point. 3. An existing solution is to incorporate unwelcome visitor/guest equipment into the game (including lvl 127 VIPs) While not too much changes with sword, 1-h axe receives a MAJOR overhaul with the addition of the fast(5) axes for endgame use. No idea when they plan to release this though. 4. A custom Mapleroyals weapon wouldnt be out of the question I suppose. A level 100 1-h axe with fast(4) would balance out close to a stonetooth fast(5) without SI. I'm not sure where they stand with custom gear though. And in general, I havent heard anything from the staff about axe changes, so im in the dark as well. Hope I answered your question.
I might use a sword before they make changes to axes then. Since who knows how long it could take them to put some work into it. =(
Right now the only benefits of axe over sword are superficial (even though scrolls are cheaper, you will wind up having to mass scroll in hopes of getting anything end-game viable, prescroll axes are unbelievably rare). Currently, my axe hero is an homage to my ol axe hero, Pyrogore, that is currently almost 11 years old at this point (GMS Scania May 2005). I cannot speak for any of the Royals staff, but I'm pretty sure they know about the whole end-game axe issue and are in agreeance to fix with new weapon(s) (points 3 and/or 4 in above post) It all comes down to a matter of priority though, and as much as I'd love to get a fast high level axe, we need to be patient. Unless you have a personal preference for the look of the axe, and if you havent made the 2nd job skill decision yet, I would advise going sword until the issue gets corrected. If you really wanted to, you could potentially hybridize by splitting booster points, I don't know if I would advise it though.
Hey, just to tag onto this. I got a 110att clean Tavar (lvl 110 2h Axe), which is 2 less than perfect if I'm not mistaken. Free to any axe user who wants it.
