I ordered my computer/keyboard/mouse from iBuyPower and it all gets ships here on wednesday. I ordered this keyboard http://www.razerzone.com/store/razer-deathstalker . I was thinking about grabbing a Steelseries apex for FPS since it has a huge spacebar and directional arrow keys for upper right and upper left http://steelseries.com/us/products/keyboards/steelseries-apex-gaming-keyboard . I was planning on using the deathstalker for MMO's and the apex for FPS, thoughts?
For that kind of money you could get yourself a terrific mechanical keyboard from someone like Leopold, CM Storm, Rosewill or Corsair, which I feel would be a much better investment. Many people say you'd want red or black Cherry MX switches for gaming, however on that particular point I have little advice to offer: I'm primarily a typist and naturally prefer blues and browns.
With emphasis on the mechanical bit: if the keyboard uses Cherry MX switches the keys will behave the same regardless of the brand name on the box.
I'd just get razer. I had there mechanical keyboard which was fantastic until... my cat spilled water all over it.
I wont really be able to use a mechanical keyboard since I'm usually up till 4 AM gaming and I dont want to wake anyone up. Right now im using a shitty logitech keyboard and im waking people up with it So I just got the chiclet style keyboard from razer.
Don't use Cherry MX Blues and stop bottoming out or invest in some o-rings to put around the stems of the switches.
My keyboard is $3 from ebay ; Did it improve my gaming? no. Will I get more girls if I get a better keyboard? Maybe.
I've been using a stock Logitech keyboard for years. Lately, I've been thinking about getting a newer keyboard. Perhaps one with red or blue Cherry switches. Still deciding over the two. edit - not sure why I wrote model m and not logitech.
I use any keyboards as long as I feel the alphabets, as long as it's not broken and as long as I can type fast with it. No big deal.
