I had a bet with a random guy in CSGO that if I can win the round I will give him 20USD worth of skins and if not he will give me 20USD skins. Apparently I won the bet, and he didn't want to give me the skins, so I bugged him by keep posting on his profile. He approached me and told me he can give me something else as he does not want to lose his CSGO skins. Then he asked if I play any other games, so I said MapleRoyals and he said that he plays it too. So that's how I got the 1B. My fellow Royalers, I know that I have broke the rules of this game and I wasn't intentional. What are your thoughts on my permanent ban from this server? On a side note I have a bishop Lv152 IGN itscool and a Lv161 Bowmaster IGN MilkChild. I have came this far in the game. Why would I even want to break the rules and lose all my accounts? Do you guys think I deserve a second chance?
I mean the service has its rules and it clearly states in the terms and conditions that real life trading is not allowed~ Betting in real life and then bringing that bet to royals sounds like real life trading imo.... Maybe its because you didn't really understand what the rule implied but it still seems kind of obvious that it was a bannable offense~ Also do you have screenshots of the agreement to pay in skins with your friend and how he refused and asked if he can pay in Royals currency? (Not that it can change much on the situation...) On a side note...I don't think the levels your accounts amount to much of a support or else every high level player will be able to use it as an excuse to say they're not breaking the rules. Just my opinion anyways but I think the GMs were correct~
Ignorance of the rules really isn't an excuse. You agree to abide by them when you sign up, whether you choose to read them and be careful is up to you. We aren't responsible for your circumstances as we already made it clear what is and isn't allowed. Just because you didn't read them thoroughly doesn'y disregard the fact that you still signed and accepted the terms & conditions.
Can this even be counted as a real world trade? He got the mesos for nothing in return. Nothing was traded for them. This can easily be compared to doing something along the lines of a drop-game in Royals. One person might end up gaining items for nothing in return. Yet drop-games aren't a bannable offense. Or is the problem the fact that the bet took place outside of the game? Either way, this was not a trade, seeing as the other party got nothing in return. In my opinion this should not fall under real world trading. Nowhere in the rules do I see any statement that bets with Mapleroyals currency are not allowed. Only that trading items/mesos for real world currency is illegal. And again, that is not what happened here. But that's just my two cents.
That was what I thought when he said he can't give me his CSGO skins. I thought if he give me royals mesos in return, it would be regarded as a gift in royals and not a bet. On top of that, the bet did not happen in royals itself. It was outside of royals when the bet took place. Apart from that, I have not broken any rules on this server before. I know that I have broken the rules and one that they are not lenient with, I deserve a punishment. But I don't think I should be banned from the server. If I would have known betting outside of royals and not betting with royals currency in the first place was also breaking the rules, I would have just said it was a gift from a friend. I just don't want things to escalate to such a stage that it can't be discussed anymore. However, it seems that the GMs here are very law to law and will not tolerate a single mistake be it intentional or non intentional.
Gambling is connected to trading since instead of trading goods for currency he wagers to trade performance for currency. Additionally this performance which in this case is valued at 20USD happened outside of MapleRoyals and can be translated into trading 20USD for 1 billion mesos, since trading for real world currency, goods and actions is against the rules the player will be banned if caught doing so.
If I bet royals mesos in the first place, then I believe I deserved the IP ban. The thing is when he say he can't give me his Skins and in return he can give me meso, what came up to my mind is that since the bet was personal, as it wasn't on any betting sites or whatsoever, this transaction of mesos can be seen as a gift from a friend. I know that you can think the other way round which is I betted royals mesos, but as I said it was non intentional. Hence, I'm here asking so that i am not IP banned and can continue to play on the server. Be it my account getting banned or not. I am willing to play this game from the start again as I love this server.
Out of curiosity, are you able to back up your csgo story with proof? (like showing the chat logs for example) Imo I believe that youre just bullshitting around with fake stories to get yourself unbanned.
I think it's the fact that he stated they were gambling 20USD worth of items or currency or whatever. It's like if I gambled 100m on royals with a friend on who dies first in zakum, I would be pretty pissed if I got banned for that, but they weren't betting ingame in this case(even though i hate betting or gambling in any game). They were knowingly betting outside Maple Royals with skins that they both agreed were worth real life currency and they brought it to Maple Royals.
Honestly, I don't feel the issue with the ban was gambling. My issue is the fact that as far as we know, the trade was $20USD for mesos, and the CSGO story, as Zynzer alluded to is just a fabricated tale to make it seem reasonable and not against the rules. I would be curious to see if OP can deliver proof of the CSGO story and that might change the story. More importantly though, we strive VERY hard to make sure this game is not pay2win and also so that no one can profit off of this game. And no @Rob, as Dimitri said, the issue is real world currency for in game mesos. As far as I know, your two betting pools were mesos in exchange for mesos, which isn't real world currency.
@Zynzer @John @Tim @Dimitri Thanks everyone for the replies. Yes I am able to provide the chat logs to you guys. I have uploaded it to imgur and the link is I don't know how much can this help, but I sincerely hope that I can be trusted. Thanks Apparently he has blocked me through steam and if you would like his steam profile, this is it. I managed to get his profile link. http://steamcommunity.com/id/captainmcr/
This chat makes no sense to me at all: Captain MCR says he will give you mesos and tells you to open up a store, yet he ends up putting up the store and you bought from him according to the rest of the conversation?
Im curious about how you wanna know that sort of things. I often gave away meso to real life friends in return for nothing to help them out, how should any other person know that they didnt gave me money in return for that? I mean i couldnt really prove the opposite right !?
@Dimitri Oh lol the chat is messed up and it doesn't even show the whole chat history. I am going to upload those I screenshot from my mobile.
Giving away mesos to one person one time, probably isn't going to raise any red flags. Doing it multiple times in a quick period or trading large amounts to multiple people, probably will. Most times, Tim does the investigations and when he does, he does a lot more than just look at the transaction itself to determine if there's probable cause to ban for suspicious activity. It's usually pretty obvious when someone gets banned for RW trading what they are actually doing, whether they admit to it or not.
