Introduction
If you're a fan of World of Warcraft and quit like me and millions of others due to what World of Warcraft has become today, you might have heard what happened to Nostalrius, a World of Warcraft Vanilla server that was created to crystallize what the game was back then. The game got so popular that the server reached 150.000 daily users and 1.000.000 game accounts, for that reason Blizzard decided to shut the server down. People are now firing back to make Nostalrius live again.

The petition
The petition is basically about convincing Blizzard that there are enough people interested in playing this server again, or at least something stable enough to relive a Vanilla server. If you agree to this, I ask you to sign >this< petition here.

Feedback
Basically everyone has the same idea. World of Warcraft today sucks (no shit they lost 9.5 million players). Anyway, the ideas vary whether Vanilla, TBC or WOTLK was the best expansion, but that doesn't really matter. The point is that everyone wants the ''old WoW back''

My bros play(ed) a lot of WoW though but I never really heard from them which version they prefer. Upon reading further into it, it seems current WoW has same (similar) things the current MapleStory has. Its much easier and the core gameplay has been altered for (according to them) worse.

I learnt about it all because I watch Jontron and he made a video about it:


Since then I've been watching the Blizzard forums and other sites related to it. The 'end' videos with the last moments of the server is very emotional though even if I never played it! Feels bad for them.

So yeah. Hopefully (but I doubt it since it seems Blizzard is *really* against using old code) they will make a similar step as Jagex did with Runescape.

 

I've never played WoW in my life, though I have a lot of friends who used to.

I wanted to try it out recently, but literally everyone I talked to about it told me not to bother, because the "real WoW feeling" is long gone.

Signed the petition. If there's any chance for me to ever play the "true WoW", I'm in.

 

Seeing that we only need 14k more and we get about 18k signatures a day, I feel we're done by tomorrow. Im so excited

 

When I played WoW it was way back in the day. I can't remember why it stopped, but I definitely know why I never picked back up. the Pay2Win aspect ON TOP of a subscription was just crazy to me. I mean, how can you justify "buying" a max level character? :/ Anyway, signed for the cause. I know the feel of when your favorite server gets shut down.

Funny thing is that their idea '“pristine realm" is very similar to GMS's Reboot. I don't understand why its so hard for companies to understand what people really want. You can't bring back proper 'nostalgia' and gameplay using a newer client (with a lot of changed skillsets) but removing stuff. It isn't the same. Idiots.

RIP nost. the birth of a new era though, playtbc will be legit hopefully, retail absolutely fucking sucks, but vanilla>wotlk is literally the best game to ever be produced imo when it comes to quality/quantity of content in any game. f4 though

If vanilla WoW is really becoming a thing I honestly give it a try. My bros' played it all time back then but I had no interest in the game itself. Seeing so many say the community aspect was great and it was very grindy and hardcore back then (something I like in MapleStory), I may give the game a shot, and would pay for it.
