White Screen when playing on VMWare

After installing the new patch, the client goes all white when I start up with the music still playing. However, the game works fine when I don't run in it vmware. I have it .exe file to windows 98/ME compatibility and it still has the issue :/

I would suggest not using windows XP and installing windows 7.

The new client also supports multi clienting without Vmware

 

I use VMware because I constantly dc whenever I boss otherwise. Will it still be fine if I run it in windows 7?

 

I have the same issues with windows XP so I have switched to windows 7 and there should not be any dc problems caused by using windows 7 in VMware.

Is windows 7 VMware good for bossing? I normally use the XP version, but looks like this update killed that.

How do you install windows 7 on vmware? Also what is multi clienting, how do you install that / how does it work ?

 

well, I dc'd immediately from Zak, so much for not dcing from bosses :/

yeah i get white screen too now, this patch screwed everything up for bossing/login it seems

 

Seems like half the server wont be bossing anytime soon until they fix vmware.

 

vmware on XP gets a white screen for me also. and not everyone can boss on windows 7. thats bullshit because i dc from windows 7 when zak/HTing

ok so some people seem to think the problem is with windows xp, so I thought I should mention that I have 2 different win xp running on 2 different computers and maple runs fine for me. first computer runs windows xp native i ran the setup didnt have any problem since, second computer is macbook which runs xp inside parallels same thing ran setup no problem since. The only thing i've noticed is that when I quit game/close a client the process wont stop and I have to go and manually terminate the process. (2 process sxe00.tmp and mapleroyals.exe)

 

Wait, is it possible to run parallels in windows 10? If so, which version do you use?

 

That's very interesting especially since the problem seems to only be related to VMware + windows XP.

 

I don't think theres a parallels for windows, I know theres alternatives to vmware though I don't know if its worth trying.

I thought win7 inside vmware isn't work for some people as well?
