Recently downloaded the game but couldn't play due to the excessive appearance of this error code. Tried setting my compatibility mode to multiple different settings. Ran the setup file but it said my directX was outdated. I've tried re downloading but it didn't work. Edited my screen resolution, pretty much did everything i could find on the internet. Anyone have any ideas? My brother's version worked perfectly with no issues.
I had the same issue but i managed to fix it by updating my driver as my previous one was refusing to the start the game with the same error , perhaps you could try the same. Hope this helps and you manage to sort out the problem!
thanks for the suggestion but there's no new updates for my driver. Got the most recent one as well so i doubt i'll be getting an update anytime soon.

Tried all of these already, nothing seems to work. No viruses or malware on my computer so that's not affecting it.
