So today Royals was working fine. After I logged off and wanted to play again several hours later, I cant open it. I get an error which says "Mapleroyals v62 was blocked from accessing the Internet". I didn't change any settings or anything on my comp today, it was fine before and now I get this error. Please help because I got no idea why its doing this :(

Sounds like anti-virus. Would be better to see an actual screenshot of the error to help resolve this. And more information like what operating system you are using etc...

Well, Norton is blocking it from accessing the internet. You need to create an exception in your Norton Antivirus. Just google it, it should be easy to figure out.

Royals in excluded as it has always been but the problem still persists. I disabled my Firewall and Royals works, as soon as I turn it back on it stops working. I went into my Firewall settings and cant find any place to Exclude my Royals folder

Royals is excluded in my Anti-Virus, when I run scans it doesn't scan Royals, but I don't know how to exclude it from my Firewall, theres no setting or anything in Firewall which allows me to exclude it

    Modify the Firewall Program Rules
    1. Start your Norton product.

    2. Click Settings.

    3. Under Detailed Settings, click Firewall.

    4. On the Program Rules tab, in the Program column, scroll through the list until you find the executable file for the program that you cannot use.

For example, if you cannot use Yahoo! Messenger, scroll through the list until you find the entry for Yahoo! Messenger. The rule for Yahoo! Messenger will be listed like:

      Yahoo! Messenger

      C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\YahooMessenger.exe

    5. Do one of the following:
      • If you find the entry for the executable file of the program, change the Access to Allow and go to line 15.

      • If you cannot find the entry for the executable file, click Add and go to line 6.
    6. Browse and select the executable file for the program that you want to configure, and click Open.

    7. Click Manual configure from the drop-down list and then click OK.

    8. Click Allow, and then click Next.

    9. Click Connections to and from other computers, and click Next.

    10. Click Any computer, and click Next.

    11. To apply this rule to all ports, click All types of communication (all ports, local and remote), and click Next.

    12. Click Create a Security History log entry, and click Next.

    13. Type in a description for this rule, and then click Next.

    14. Review the information about the rule. If it is correct, click Finish, and then click OK.

If it is incorrect, click Back to go back to the previous steps and make changes.

    15. Click Apply, and then click Close.

    16. Try to use the application or device that you face problem with.

Thanks for the info Matt, sadly it still wont work. I tried the steps twice and still nothing, BUT I did notice something. Even though Royals is on Allow, the Internet connection for it is Poor/Unknown. Why its doing that im not sure, but here is a SS of what it looks like

Hmmm, this is probably because the client unpacks to a temporary file when opened, and executes from the temporary file rather than MapleRoyals.exe. Try adding a folder exclusion?

To exclude a folder from scans on Windows clients

    1. On the Exceptions Policy page, click Exceptions.

    2. Under Exceptions, click Add > Windows Exceptions > Folder.

    3. In the Prefix variable drop-down box, select a common folder.

Select [NONE] to enter the absolute path and file name.

When you select a prefix, the exception can be used on different Windows operating systems.

    4. In the Folder text box, type the name of the folder.

If you select a prefix variable, the path should be relative to the prefix. If you select[NONE], type the full path name.

      Note:

Paths must be denoted by using a backward slash.

    5. Under Specify the type of scan that excludes this folder, select the type of scan (Security Risk, SONAR, Application control, or All).

You must select at least one type.

    6. For security risk scans, under Specify the type of security risk scan, select Auto-Protect, Scheduled and on-demand, or All Scans.

See the help for information about why you might want to limit the exception to a specific type of security risk scan.

    7. Click OK.

I honestly don't know, I don't use Norton - or any antivirus for that matter. You'll have to google to figure it out yourself, contact Norton, or simply uninstall Norton.

I've had the same problem on my gf's laptop. An easy fix is to right click the Norton icon on your taskbar, and select "Disable Smart Firewall". This (obviously) disables Norton's firewall for a specified amount of time (from 15 minutes up to the restart of your computer) or permanently.
