Im not a tech wizard so I don't understand if its even possible to do but I use a joypad to play GMS and its always been my favorite way to play. I mean I don't mind using a keyboard but maybe there is a few other MapleRoyals players out there that would enjoy using a controller to play.I don't see how adding the option to use a joypad could backfire in anyway but if it was possible I think it would be a neat little option.
I'm sure we'd love to allow native compatibility for controllers, however the main thing stopping us from doing that is the fact we would need to design our own game client - which is not a simple task. It's definitely something we are aiming for in the future though. But the new source comes first.
I assumed it would take a handful of work to get going.. But atleast its been considered! Also 100% of players are all for new source over anything <3
It's a lot more pleasant! Back when Aran first came out, I set up my ps3 controller and it felt like a whole different game. Mad grinding at Forest of Golem by spamming the o button. Out of curiosity, what class do you play now? I always figured it played better with warriors, since they are pretty linear fighters and can probably fit all their pots and skills on the gamepad.
You can already use third party software to use a game controller and bind their outputs to the keys that you use in maple. Make sure you're still able to reply to a GM whenever you're grinding though as we wouldnt want to ban you for botting
@Januario You're right, it is definitely more comfortable to play with a third party game controller rather than a keyboard and mouse, especially while selling leech. I'm not sure if you were looking for a way to set up a controller to play Royals, but here is a thread I used to set up a PS3 controller to play Royals. https://royals.ms/forum/threads/how...ny-usb-controller-joytokey-with-images.15279/ Keep in mind that if you don't want a wired USB connection, you'll either need native Bluetooth support from your computer, or a Bluetooth USB dongle.
