Vote Abuse?

Really, how do people vote abuse? Is it even possible? I don't understand how people do it because it says "You have already voted in the last 24 hours, please wait X minutes to vote." which makes it impossible?
It's not like I wanna do it, I just want to know how people succeed. lol

So if you are using a different IP and voting on the same account, it doesn't say "You have already voted..."?

 

I think its voting on multiple accounts with proxy.

 

How do the GMs keep track of people then?

 

MAC Address maybe?

Yeah, that's maybe true. It might be MAC Address as Himes said but if I'm not mistaken you can change that too..

 

Let's put it this way, sometimes we make mistakes with our bans but on Dustin's most recent sweep, he had a pretty good accuracy count on his bans. Magicians never reveal their secrets

 

Does it matter, really? If you don't want to get banned, just don't vote abuse. Vote once on both websites every 24 hours for NX, that's it.

And, as John said, if we'd tell you how Dustin finds the vote abusers, then it could be bypassed.

My name is SunnyD and I been voting for like 2 months or 1 on my phone and I dont want you guys to suspect sumtin but tell me cause when I get back online ima spend it all I might get back online in 4 weeks cause I need 300 more dollars but as I was saying I dint spend any of vote cash idk how much I have but I wish to find out dont bann me pls no vote abuse

I remember a ban appeal where some GM posted a log of a vote abuser that looked something like this:
Blablabla, March 2nd 2014 [19:31]
Blablabla, March 2nd 2014 [19:34]
Blablabla, March 2nd 2014 [19:42]

So I was just wondering how you kept track of that person when he maybe changed account, IP, MAC etc.. I didn't expect any GM to reveal their secrets though, I just wanted to hear what the community thought. Even if someone guessed right you probably wouldn't say it.

 

This whole thread seems very dodgy...

 

Maybe if you vote on different IPs/MAC addresses, but then all of those accounts log onto the same IP/MAC address, they can tell that you're the same person and that you're vote abusing. Just a guess though.

I got banned because I didn't know this server actually enforced the vote abuse rule and didn't take any precautions. Not sure what precautions I would have taken though

The question is not how people vote abuse, but why they do. If you feel that you are more special than others and therefore deserve an advantage over them, you are not a very nice person.

 

there is 1 way to vote abuse freely anyway... but its time consuming, probably not worth it after all.

im not sure if it rly works, not gonna try it anymore anyway. 1 ban is enough :3
