As some of you know job advancing in maple island can be time consuming for making a mage or non str reliant class. I think we should have the ability to add points to STR and reset it when we job advance. Well unless you guys find maple island hell nostalgic? Opinions
Have you ever tried beelining the max MP increase? Now that's hell. Though I do agree. Having an AP reset would help pre-mages and thieves reach their 1st job advancements quicker. Especially since we have AP resets on character creation (I'd much rather take the time to do a perfect roll and have an AP reset on 1st job adv.)
As a mage, I've never really minded that Maple Island is a bit more difficult (3 snails ftw!). What would be nice for newbie mages is changing things so that 3 snails doesn't use up snail shells. (IIRC, that was the case in later versions.)
Later (v83 for sure) version automatically atribute the stats into STR/DEX. When job advancing it's reset to the minimum requirements, including the leftover AP avaiable to use. Also Three Snails doesn't use snailshells. I don't think Maple Island is supposed to be harder for any 'to-be'-class. The point is being a tutorial to learn the maple basics. So I'm in favor of the AP Reset, as long as the EXP rate is lowered to 1x. And hopefully get all the quests working properly. Or it can provide a home for some players who like to stick around at Amhrest. Update: Three snails does use snailshells in v62, what I mean is it doesn't use any shells in v83.
It is. In this version you have the option to find me and I'll happily bestow onto you whatever shells I happen to have on me. It most certainly does in our current version.
Indeed it does. I have a feeling Gi was testing on a GM character which does not consume projectiles.
I wish to add that if stat resets were somehow provided to beginners before they advance their job, I imagine the industrious people would see that as little beyond a means of gaining a bit of extra intelligence, and therefore magic points for future washing, even if they mean to be warriors or thieves or what have you.
Yes, that one dawned on me, as well. Also, as a mage, I didn't like it much that I couldn't pump int and gain extra mp at the very early levels in later versions.
Why? You can't even do all the maple island quests without overleveling, and it only takes like 5-10 minutes tops to reach 8 on a magician (yes I have a cleric).
