Frequently when double clicking my pet penguin the game will freeze, fade to black, and crash. It gives me error code -2147287038 (unknown error 0x80030002). It's done it every time for the past 4-5 tries. It was working fine earlier. I do not see this listed under the current pet bugs.
The error code you have provided in this thread suggests something isn't correct in your files. Could you perhaps uninstall and remove your MapleRoyals folder, and then reinstall it again using the latest installer found on the website?
I completely uninstalled then reinstalled, still the same thing occurring. I didn't log out between the time it was working to the time it failed on me, so not sure what would have changed. Hmm... My antivirus is programmed not to even scan the MapleRoyals folder so it's not automatically removing anything.
Update: It is also when I double click myself. If I remember correctly it may have been a graphics glitch back in the day. However, this is a new computer that can more than handle MapleStory... I think it had to do with hardware acceleration but not sure.
Can you try and unequip any pet equips just to make sure the issue is with the pet. Also make sure you don't have any items on your Cash Shop wishlist. If the pet is causing the problem then an admin will need to delete the pet and refund you and after that you would be able to buy it again.
I did the wishlist thing as so far it's ok. I will keep testing it here and there since it is intermittent.
