Design A Chair!​

Greetings Royalers,

Ever wanted to see your own design implemented in the game? Well now's your chance! We are asking the community to have a go at designing a chair that to be added to the game. We will select 3 winning designs. There may be more depending on the quality and quantity of submissions. But no more than 10 winning designs. The winning designs will then be exclusively available from the donator shop.

Rules:

• One chair submission per person.
• The chair designs must be fit in to the style of MapleStory. (No Pokémon, etc.)
• The chair must be of an appropriate size.
• The chairs must be original and not copies of other chairs in other servers or real MapleStory.
• You may include graphics from MapleStory to decorate or accompany the design.
• The design can be seasonal and will not affect how your design is judged. E.g. Christmas, Halloween, Summer etc.
• Event ends on Sunday 4th May at Midnight (Server Time)

Design Tips

• Use this website tool to preview your chair alongside a character:

• Save your chair designs as a .png with transparent background.
• If you do not have imaging software which can do transparency don't worry. We can remove the background for you.
• Try to keep your chair of an appropriate size. Not too big but not too small.
• Also include the chair origins along with the image.
• Chairs can also be animated, however we will require a .png of each frame of the animation, along with the origin coordinates of each frame.

Submissions

• All submissions must be posted publicly in this thread. We will not accept submissions via any other means.
• Along with your image please give us the chair origin coordinates. This can be done by using this tool.
• You may change your design submission at any time during the event. But remember you can only have one final submission in total.
• Don't forget to give your chair a name! (It will state who it was designed by in the description).

1st Place:

• 10 Random MapleStory Trading Cards (1st Generation from 2007) from my small personal collection. I can sign them if you want... lol.*

I don't think there is however I would try to keep it as reasonable as you can. An animation that lasts like 10 seconds+ would be pretty over the top lol.

I think the smallest time between frames is 90ms or 120ms if that matters at all.

 

Don't forget to give a name to your chairs as well...

 

Maple Island, a simple chair for a simple location.



Suggested chair origin as evaluated with the above tool is (14, -16), resulting in the following:



(The island is reflected horizontally because the tool has the character facing to the left.)

 

You'll need to decide on one yourself though. And if you could post the chair without the character on it would be best. Thanks!

 

Seems like a great response to the event so far! Nice to see all the different ideas. I'll allow people to post an image of the chair by itself and a character sitting on the chair and put both in the main thread under a spoiler. So if you have submitted a chair but want to submit an image with a character sitting on the chair to go with it - please do.

Ah, you forgot to give us the X/Y coordinates of the character origin.

 

I am not sure if it is possible to fix these in v62. There are 2 different problems if I recall correctly...

• Chairs which require your character to move to different coordinates when you sit down
• Chairs which have 2 layers of images.
  • Chairs where half the characters' body should be hidden. E.g. Bed Chair
  • Chairs which have both a background and a foreground E.g. Elixir chair.

I'd prefer to keep this thread on topic regarding the event so please if you want to discuss the bugs regarding chairs please post in an appropriate thread in the bug section or make a thread if there isn't one.
