Before I get started, I wanna thank Matt and John for putting all the hard work and the dedication into the server I was truly impressed since many things worked while keeping the experience as close as possible to the original great old MapleStory! I love the dedication, responsibility and commitment the staff members have shown! mind blowing kindness and treatment With all that the community reminded me of the original maplestory, it is an insanely well done server ! words won't suffice! I managed to come up with some suggestions that will hopefully serve the purpose of us players and the owners to get as close as possible to the original V62 experience. I trust that we all have the same purpose in enjoying the game in the most fair methods possible , so I have to ask the devs for a favor to check for the possibility of these things: 1) Chaos scroll drops, yeah,I am aware normal monsters didn't drop it at v62 but I believe that Snowman,Seruf and maybe HT or zak used to drop it. I'd like to ask the owner kindly to check the original game files,if none drop it,we are fine with that, after all we all seek one thing:the original old mapling experience . 2) Adding a command called "whodrops" by using ~whodrops [Item ID] players will be able to check which monsters drop a certain item, this way we will be able to train at specific spots farming for what we want... Reason is: pre BB hidden-street.net is of late v87~86..... so it might not serve v62 best, plus , some drops are modified on the server, like NX and ap resets , it'd be a REALLY cool feature to have ! 3) Adding terms of use in red for players upon registration, I mistakenly voted on 2 accs (phone and pc) and informed a GM about it , thank goodness I am not getting banned .... don't want players to experience that. 4) Event winner shop ! Instead of GMs having to look up rewards IDs and dropping them a shop will do the job ,let's say you can reward players with specific event tokens such as Maple Golden Leaves , and in a shop they can trade them for chairs & items that are chosen by the owners , this will save the GMs and players lots of time , as for NX , let's say that every leaf can get you 5k nx (first prize can be one or 2 leaves) Once I come up with more I will let you know , thank you
I can relate to #2. It's really hard to motivate yourself to find rare items when half of them aren't even correct on BBB-hs. Usually I just end up having to confirm with a GM in the long run. I liked when GMS came out with the monster cards so you could confirm it for yourself if you trained there long enough by getting more of the same card. If only there were a system like this that could be easily implemented.
1) I don't think this would be good, Chaos Scroll value would drop even further. 2) There's a better solution for this, and I believe the staff is working on that (I won't say what since I'm not sure), but in the meantime, ~whodrops could be a good thing to have. 3) Good idea, definitely. People should at least know the TL; DR version, then... 4) There's already an Event Prize List on the forum, and it's up to the GMs to decide what prizes to give, because otherwise, everyone would get the same prize and it would be worthless. Most GMs allow requests, though.
1) I just believe the goal is to be as close as possible to the original experience, the prices are up to players to decide anyways I believe it will be hard to get even if the owner finds that these certain bosses drop it and decides to add them to revive the nostalgia . 2) I am looking forward to it 3) that's definitely important.... 4) It's hard enough winning an event, instead of players bugging GMs with prizes , they can get them anytime with a shop, in my opinion it would save GMs lots of time.... LOTS . Most of the chairs are untradeable and I am sure most of the players wanna collect them all , chairs may vary in prices in shop so it can be fun !!
1) I'm against this for a couple of reasons: 1) in v62 chaos scrolls did not drop from mobs; and 2) it would change the whole chaos scroll dynamic. As of right now chaos scrolls come only from gach and are extremely rare, and imo that's a good thing. If chaos scrolls started dropping from mobs everyone would farm them, diluting the market and making end game much easier to obtain. It feels so rewarding when you chaos scroll something good (not that I'd know about that), and so frustrating when you fail (I know all about this though). If I could simply hunt chaos scrolls I would have 10+ attack FS and cape by now and so would most high levels. The fact that end game is hard to reach is, to me, positive for the server. It keeps people around longer giving them something to work for rather than making it to end game and getting bored quickly. 2) I really like this idea, it would very useful. But it's been brought up before here. http://royals.ms/forum/showthread.php?t=338&highlight=drops 3) Yes, some of the rules need to be stated MUCH more clearly (looking at you account sharing). 4) This is a great idea! Instead of waiting around to pick prizes you can get points to use in the shop.
1) Pretty much what Chicken Stix said in the above post. 2) We are looking into the possibility of making our own database on the website for everything including mob drops, quests etc. Basically a hidden-street specifically for MapleRoyals and 100% accurate. At the moment we are in the process of designing a new website and forum style first. But this is more of a side-project because as most of you know there are a couple of major problems in the game at the moment. 3) We will definitely look into making the rules more clear when registering. 4) This is also a very good idea actually. But looking for more opinions from players.
Wasn't sure if I could say this, but ya, this is what I meant. And I guess the 4th suggestion could work, but there has to be put a lot of thought in how much each prize would cost, and how much you would win from what event... This would be great for events with smaller prizes (which are normally 250/500/1000 NX), like Wheel of Fortune, Loner or Reflexes.
1) I definitely wouldn't want to see Chaos Scrolls dropping from monsters, for pretty much the reasons that Robb (ChickenStix) gives. 2) Definitely in favour of Matt's idea of having our own database here! 3) Very much agreed. 4) This sounds like a great system! This way, nobody would end up complaining that their prize sucks! =)
4) It would be hard to implement this. The prizes would be sold at high prices because of how hard it is to win some of the events. However, I do love the idea and would love to see this work within the game. Maybe... more events/rewards?
1) I like the current rarity of chaos scrolls. If you could get them from zak, even on a very very low drop rate, the price would deflate like crazy. 2) Having our own database would be awesome 3) Totally agree 4) Sorry, but I don't think this is necesarry. We can save the GMs' time by figuring out what chair we want beforehand based on the list of prizes provided. It's also nice that we can ask them to sit in a chair so you can see it first. It would be cool, however, if we added preview pictures to the list of prizes.
I'm all for the 4th suggestion as long as the system won't be stuck in the FM or be a player command. I love how we don't have too much commands so therefore, I want it to remain the same. I think this NPC should be put in the maps that GM's are hosting events in. It will be much more appealing.
I definitely agree with your 4th point. When I've brought it up to GMs upon winning an event, they said I could "just google the chairs in the prize list." Not only is that time consuming, but not all of the chairs show up in google.
@Number 4, I made a prototype of such NPC a while back. Sorting prizes per category, showing the miniature icon and name. Since the reactions seem very positive on that one I will finish it, and add the current eventlist It may serve to preview items, or maybe a new event-currency could be added.
THIS will for SURE SAVE BOTH players and staff tons of time in the future ! If that currency could be traded as well , would be awesome !
