Does anyone know how I can vote on my account while still having VMWare installed? I've made sure that my last log in was through the MapleRoyals client on my actual computer, but I'm still unable to vote. I have to uninstall VMWare everyday in order to vote, and while it doesn't take that long, it becomes somewhat of a nuisance. If anyone knows a solution, please let me know.
That's really weird, I wouldn't have guessed that it would happen after you log into the game without VMware and then log out to vote. Must mean your mac address is being changed because of VMware or something like that, sounds very very strange. Maybe simply try restarting your computer and then log into the game without VMware > log out > vote This does not happen for anyone else who uses VMware so no idea what's wrong on your end.
Umm...could you clarify what do you mean by "you can't vote"? Did it say you have already voted or something else? Also, after uninstalling vmware, were you able to vote only after 24hrs or whatever time it said you needed to wait, or you could vote immediately? Because if it was the latter, then you have a really weird problem at hand .__. I don't think it's an IP address issue since the IP address of your VM and your native OS should be the same. Here's a long shot but maybe you wanna try generating a new MAC address for the virtual network adaptor on your VM: Open VMware. On the left-hand side, you should see a column named devices. Click Network Adaptor. You should have "Virtual Machine Settings" window pop-up. On the right-hand side, there should be an "Advanced", open it, and generate a new MAC address for your virtual machine. The first three octets shouldn't change because it's the OUI that belongs to VMware. I have VMware Workstation Pro, so I'm not sure if it'll work for free edition. If this doesn't work, I'd say you can try creating a new virtual machine, redownload MapleRoyals and see if it works...
Despite logging in on my main computer's client, as soon as my vote time is reached, the counter will reset as if I've voted. For instance, if my vote time is at 1 AM, at 12:55 AM, it'll say that I can vote again in 5 minutes, but by the time it actually is 1 AM, it'll say that I have to wait another 24 hours to vote, despite not having voted at all. As soon as I uninstall VMWare and log in through my main computer's client, I'm immediately able to vote for NX again. However, I do Daily HTs, which makes this process monotonous as I'm going to have to reinstall VMWare.
Oh I see, I had used VMware to multi-client mapleroyals before and I was able to vote in VMWare or native OS without any issues. But that was months ago before I started using sandboxie, now I just use native client (with integrated graphics card for HT). Before you try the solution I've written above, maybe you want to try disabling VMWare network adapters, right-click the wireless/ethernet icon on bottom right, click network and sharing centre, then change adapter settings and disable the two VMware network adapters. You should still be able to access the internet in your VM (if you can't access the internet, right-click on the opened vm tab and choose settings, click network adapter and change to "Bridged : connection..."). Spoiler If that doesn't work, you can prevent VMware from starting up when you switch on your computer. This way, you don't have to uninstall VMware every time you want to vote. Go to task manager, under startup tab, disable VMware from starting up. If you're using windows 7 or before, you'll have to run msconfig and similarly disable vmware process. However, this still means you'll have to restart computer before you try to vote so it's not exactly fixing the root of the problem, just a workaround.
