Multiclienting without other programs

Is there any way that Royals could be made possible to open a 2nd (or 3rd, 4th, etc.) client without the use of programs like Sandboxie? The free version of Sandboxie allows only one sandbox to be open at a time, which isn't always enough. I have been on servers that allow multiclienting without any 3rd party programs so I believe it's possible to do.

Is muticlienting a necessity? No, but it's very common, and it can't hurt to make it easier and cheaper. Not everybody has a spare laptop laying around that they can use.

I don't know how difficult it would be to do this, but it would be a nice thing to have.

 

You can use a virtual PC machine to multi-client.

 

That still doesn't answer the question. Is it able to make the client allow multiple windows?

 

I think it's possible, since the GM client offers this feature. Someone from staff has to confirm this, though.

 

I think I might have worded the question incorrectly. I wasn't asking how to do it myself, I was asking if you guys could make changes to the vanilla client so that it's possible to do.

 

We already have a modified client. Only GMs have access to it.

May I ask why it's restricted to GMs only? I don't see the harm in making it easier to multiclient for everyone.

 

There are arguments against this, actually. There are ways to abuse having 3 or more clients opened simultaneously, you could for example leech several characters of your own, or cheat in e.g. events that are luck-based.

Nonetheless, it's an idea worth considering.

 

Because the GM Client also contains unlimited flashjump and autobanprotection I believe.

We don't want to release the multi-client feature to the public because SOME people would start stacking accounts and leeching them. We don't want everyone on the server to have an abundance of accounts.

 

I believe the luck-based event arguement to be invalid, because multiclienting (upto 2 clients with e.g. Sandboxxie) is already possible, but also already prohibited in all events.

Whether people use 2 clients with Sandboxxie or 3 clients without Sandboxxie makes no difference.

If the client allows it, you could also try to make a compromise and allow multiclienting upto 2 clients at a time. This way, people can't open unlimited clients and thus stack accounts, but it would be fair to people who can't run Sandboxxie (e.g. because they have Windows 8 ). At the moment there is an inequality there.

 

I've seen plenty of servers that have multi client built into the client. In any regard, sandboxie still works for any form of multi client. Leech and trading yourself is just about all the useful things you can do with a multi client.

I don't care one way or another, but it's definitely possible to create a client that can open a number of additional clients at the same time.

 

Having your own HS/Door mule is kind of nice too! =)
