The new chat bubble.

I've recently come across the new chat bubble that appears over your head when you have a glitched quest in progress. I currently forfeited the quest that caused it so I can't provide a screenshot of it, and I asked Kat in-game about it when she was available, and just wanted to provide some feedback on it.

The chat bubble that appeared told the player that he obtained the quest glitch and that he should forfeit all quests because he wouldn't be recieving EXP, but this was not the case. The particular quest (Cleaning Up the Outer Parts of Eos Tower) didn't reduce the spawn nor nullified the drops, but only caused the kill counter for the required monsters not to count.

This is not meant as a bug report, it's merely feedback and a thumbs up to Gi for implementing this, even though it's not 100% accurate, it would still be helpful to new players.

 

The fact you get the message means the drops and spawn don't get broken anymore. So there should be no more map spoiling.

 

The message seems to take account any quest that has some minor bug in it, though (quests that doesn't ruin spawn/drops, quest that you have to spam complete for it to go through, etc.). And what I find weird is, that I've encountered the quest glitch copious times, and I've never been denied exp from killing stuff while it's been in effect.

 

Aha! It sounds like this has confirmed that the need to spam the NPC to complete a quest is in fact part of THE quest bug! Useful info, thank you Vic!

 

I would like to add that sometimes the system thinks a quest is bugged while you are getting exp/drop/spawn.

I had this today with the Ht prequest

 

I'd like to add that Mecheez and no doubt other players too find the chat bubble intrusive and annoying. Is there any way we could implement a way for players to toggle this on/off or lower the number of times it notifies you of the same instance of quest bug?

This has been done, so please start reporting!

 

This chat bubble also appeared above my head in the middle of training, and I hadn't done a quest in 20 levels. It disappeared soon after, though, within 1 minute.
Oh yeah, it had no effect on my experience/drops either.

 

I've seen the bubble several times for HT prequest but still received drops

When I was doing one of Yoona's (beginner island) quests yesterday I got the chat bubble. I was still getting exp and drops, but the kills weren't counting towards the quest.

Here you go Gi. The only quest I have is the HTPQ pre quest. But as you can see I'm getting exp and drops so yay!

If you get the "You have a bugged quest." bubble this means you will still get:

• EXP;
• drops;
• respawn.

The only issue there is, is that your mobcount for quests will not increase.

EDIT: Ohhhh nvm I just saw Robb's SS.

 

I believe it's whenever I get exp. Here's another SS, all I'm doing is sitting on the rope leeching and the bubble pops up.

 

Was leeching my priest and both characters received the alert. Both had forfeited all quests...
Definitely confused on how this works.

 

Were you in a party with anyone else?
