Hi, I've been playing here for a few months and as I'm sure you're aware there are an incredible amount of disconnects that happen daily and really ruin player experiences. It makes bossing almost impossible and even traditional grinding is a pain when you're constantly threatened by disconnects to lose your map. Please understand I am not complaining just to complain; I am here to offer a solution as well. I own one of the largest private gaming servers in the world for Minecraft, and I believe I could be of great help to the admins here. I sent an email to [email protected] already offering my assistance but have not heard back, so I would really like to get a reply from a GM here at least. Many people are not aware but Minecraft is the target of some of the largest DDoS attacks in the world each year, reaching in excess of 400gbps in 2016 so far, and more are always right around the corner. If the issue is DDoS I can help you easily and with a much better solution than Incapsula. If the issue is hardware I can get you better servers at cheaper prices with my data center connections. If the issue is software related I would happily provide you one of my full time developer (Java and others available) to help you fix the issue. Anything I can do to help fix these issues I am willing, and only need a bit of cooperation from an admin. Please do not blow this thread off as another random player trying to help. I know what it feels like to be in your shoes and I can actually make it better no matter what your root cause is. Thanks.
A lot of the disconnects and crashes comes from the fact the Source client we currently use is rubbish. Which is why they've been building a new source for quite some time now. The new source should alleviate many of the disconnects and crashes that occur currently. As for when the new source actually comes out? It should be out before the next century.
I'm sure that certainly may contribute but it definitely seems like part of the issue is network drops from DDoS. I could be wrong but I would think it's a solid portion.
This is wrong. We have one of the best DDoS protection services available. The last DDoS was a 1.6Gbps (221.9k PPS) attack on Saturday September 3rd at 9:20am which was fully mitigated by our DDoS protection and went unnoticed. The issue is a server sided one relating to the source code of the game. This is being actively worked on by our own full time developer, and we are over 90% of the way to providing everyone with a better service.
