My character won't attack

Hi! I'm (sadly) playing on a mac, using Paralells with Windows XP and I have a really annoying problem. When I walk and start attacking, the key doesn't register more than once, which means that I only attack once eventhough I'm holding down my attack-button. I need to completely stop and hold my attack-key in order for my character to keep attacking. Why is that? Before I played without XP and I didn't have this problem, neither did I have it on my other computer (win 7). I've played around in plain text using the arrow-keys and letters and I notice there aswell that the key only registers once unless I let go of the arrow-key before before doing anything else. So it should be a problem with the OS.
How do I solve it? I've checked the extremely few keyboard-settings that windows XP has without any result.
This might seem like a small issue but it's really affecting my gameplay.

50mil 200mil reward to whoever helps me solve this (if it's allowed?)
    Thanks!

EDIT: By the way, I noticed something kindof weird... if I keep holding my arrowkey and my attack-key simultaneously, it will keep attacking. It's when I let go of the arrow-key it stops to register that my attack-key is held down and I need to repress it.

You could try executing the following command in your macOS/OS X terminal:

defaults write -g ApplePressAndHoldEnabled -bool false

If this doesn't fix your problem just change "false" to "true" and you'll have things back the way they were.

Thanks for the tip, though I already tried that, both true and false. Upping the reward to 200m, this is annoying me too much hah.

What do you mean with "Before I played without XP"? Was it possible to run MapleRoyals without a virtual machine running Windows? Also, did you check if problem persists when using another keyboard?

Btw; you could try using the numpad arrows for navigation (with numlock disabled).

Yeah I ran it through something called xQuartz (there was some guide here on the forums), though it was kindof laggy and would only run in a small windowed mode. That's why I think it must be something with XP, since the keys registered just fine with that. Sadly it's a macbook, and I don't have a separate keyboard to try with.

Thanks for the tip! I tried with a number of different keys though, and I've also noticed that ctrl alt etc. doesn't really work. I've got my attacks on "v" and "b".
