You told me your friend told you he was doing suspicious things to get AP resets, he lost interest in the game afterwards and you looted them from him afterwards. Knowingly accepting illegit items and trying to get away with them is against the rules.
You knew it wasn't legit, and instead of reporting him and not taking the items you took the items anyway.
