Not sure why, but I've personally seen an increase in people coming into my map to deliberately loot drops. I'm a bishop and as such I spend a lot of hours leeching others. It is incredibly frustrating and annoying to have people running all over my map picking up drops that I haven't got to yet. And no, I'm not talking about people moving across my map traveling to another map and their pet loots a few items. It's people who move across the entirety of the map and I can see the items being picked up by their character, not their pet, and they change channel after (assuming they move to the next channel to loot again). Leechers make well over half of their money by npcing items and looting godly equips. When someone comes into a map specifically to loot items, they are stealing from the mage that's working hard for those drops. The two maps that are the worst for looters are GS2 and Ulu2 (assuming because of map layout). Looting was especially bad during the Halloween event to loot the candies. Not only are they stealing from the leecher, but they also steal from the leechee. When someone comes into my map and starts running across picking up all items in sight, I start running around trying to pick up my drops before they can and lose focus on killing mobs. And yes, I understand that there is a time limit on how long I have to pick up items before they become available for pick up by others to try to prevent this. But, it is impossible to loot all of the drops before that timer is up without completely ruining the integrity and quality of the leech service I provide. If I went to pick up every item that dropped as soon as it dropped, no one would ever buy leech from me again because they would have significantly less exp from all the time I spent running around to get my items. My point in making this post is first to determine if this is a problem for others or if people only loot maps while I leech. Second, determine if something can be done about it. Are there rules in place for this? Is this something that can and should be added to the T&C? I don't know if this can be a bannable offense unless there is visual proof of multiple obvious occurrences, but I believe it at least warrants a discussion on the forums. Thanks in advance everyone.
Similar to kill stealing, loot stealing is also a bannable offence and can be found back in the T&C: If a player is looting your items on your map and you do not wish for this to continue, please ask the player to leave and give a short explanation that it's not allowed for him to take your items. After that if the player continues, you can ask for a GM to assist you or if there's non available you can report it on the forums. (In which case please make sure to have screenshots of the entire chat having happened, and the player stealing your loot after having asked him not to)
Most of the looters dont even reply to you, even if you whisper them when they have already changed channel. They loot asap and cc asap, wich leaves no time to even get a ss of you trying to explain the ~mapowner rules to them..
Last time I checked the looting was still bugged and when you change map/walk into someone else's you could still loot everything instantly. I am certain it will work in the new source, so hopefully that loot delay will help to solve this.
