They are not fun. its doesnt make it any "harder" to acquire a zhelm, it has literally nothing to do with the actually fight and doesnt use or require any skill that would be needed to do the actual boss fight. never have I played a game where I had to do some pretentious as shit quest in order to fight a boss. jesus this jump quest brings my piss to a boil thinking about it. it literally makes me not want to play the game because of how fucking stupid it is. I would rather fucking grind 1-120 then do that jump quest. simply put it does literally nothing but bring frustration that makes me and probably other people not want to play this game. if you take it out you might actually get more people playing this server. knowing I have to do it AGAIN on EVERY acc in order to get a zhelm LITERALLY MAKES ME NOT WANT TO PLAY. EASY SOLUTION! this server needs a meso drain BADLY make it cost 50-100m to complete the jump quest for free. this provides a much needed meso drain the server needs desperately and makes this game actually fun.
I personally love jump quests. https://royals.ms/forum/threads/zakum-jump-quest-alternative.34629/ Spoiler
Oh boy some new player complaining that Maple Royals, a nostalgic V62 server, contains a feature which was part of V62. Cry me a river. I love this community. Never fails to give me a laugh.
Formulating a sentence LIKE this DOESN'T make it EASIER for US to read what you're TRYING to tell us.
god forbid that something isn't stupidly tedious and entirely a waste of time so that the overall enjoyment is increased? I mean in the sense that the fee waives the necessity to do the quest. I would beg to differ on this. it HIGHLIGHTS the points I like to make which in the end does make it easier for you to read.
It's honestly not that bad. Here's how I do it. I look up a youtube vid on zak jump quest, then just follow every move the walkthrough does. Finished the first one in 20 minutes, second under 10 minutes.
I'm probably the worst person at jump quests, I've cleared the first part after a grueling 4, 5 hours. While I absolutely loath and hate jump quests.. I wouldn't want it removed, the very least I'd want is a check point between the two stages. I can clear the first stage.. but it takes me an absolute age.. by the time I get to stage 2 I just want to cut my wrists. You can't really opt for a break because DC's happen, then you're back to square one. I'd love nothing more than to be able to Boss, do some Zakum, but I can't. Doesn't mean I'm going to write a forum post and rage. You either beat the jump quest, or you accept the fact you're not going to get a Z-helm.
For the sake of the very few rich players who would be willing to fork 100m to skip it and get some mesos out of the economy, a pay-to-skip option wouldn't be bad. However, the jump quest seriously is not that hard. I used to be awful at it until I looked up a guide and just watched others go through it on youtube. Now I feel as if I could do it blindfolded.
All that the jump quest requires is patience. Skill doesn't have a whole lot to do with it. Watch the patterns of things falling or shooting and jump accordingly.
You could ask a friend to help you with that jump quest (we used to that in gms back then) Oh wait... Adms/GMs would call that account sharing and ban you both. Sorry bro, get used to do it yourself, like I HAD to, and it might become easier with time.
First of all, let me touch on my strongest opinion. A money sink would have to be more than a 50-100m one-time fee. That is inconsequential money on this server to most people that have been playing more than a few days and know what they're doing. Secondly.... I'm a bit torn on the JQ being as relevant as it once was. The ZJQ was there from the beginning of Zak, and in the beginning it wasn't even the hardest part about Zakum.... the actual bossfight was difficult back then. It was all meant to be this huge challenge. (There was a time when Zakum was the one and only major boss, it was meant to be a big deal). This is not what Zakum is today.... today - especially on a private server with multiplied EXP, godly items, etc - Zakum is a 20 minute affair in which your only concern is that stupid Bucc you brought along that keeps forgetting to rebuff SI. Having said that.... this is also not a fully nostalgic server. Old school GMS' economy was not built around HP washing. It didn't have free NX (which causes a huge shift in the economy, mechanics, and gameplay as a whole). It didn't have 24/7 multiplied EXP. It didn't have +5 godly items. It didn't have instant ships. It didn't have any of that, so where do you stop? The ZJQ is just as relevant to "nostalgia" as ship-rides, long grinds, almost NO ONE on the server being washed, etc. So... tell me why it's so crucial that it remains in place? We shit on nostalgia every time we click "Can't I get there faster...?" or exclaim to our guild that we've just gotten an item with 5 more int than average. The ships alone have saved us more time than skipping ZJQ ever would. So, while I think OP is way over-the-top and did not convey the message properly, whines too much and needs to calm down.... he has a legitimate point.
I don't think you know what the word pretentious means. & the jumpquest is so simple if you look up the guide on youtube, I gain extra chromosomes in my fingers whenever I do them & if I can do the ZJQ with ease, so can you homie.
Considering nexons piss poor hitboxes I feel where the anger stems from. Still, it is a part of the game that a lot of people got sucked into.
You were so angry at jump quests that you made your name jump quests suck. If you don't like the jump quests don't do them. I personally enjoy the jump quests because at the game's core, it is a 2d platforming MMORPG. The game wouldn't be right without the jump quests.
