    I'm sorry it seems you have such a negative experience. On my Early 2011 15" MBP (8GB RAM with 512GB SSD), I use VMWare rather than Parallels. Perhaps you would like to try that? If you do not want to evaluate/buy VMWare, you may want to look into Oracle's VirtualBox which is 100% free. Again, up to you, but if you want to keep playing (as it sounds like you may want to), these other options may work better for you than your current setup.

    That might be the same MacBook that I own but yeah I'll admit I haven't treated my laptop all that well over the years lol...

    From deleting our buddy list to 250 > 100. Now no mac support for at least a year. New Source has done a very good job on trimming down the amount of buddies I have.

    As much hate as its getting I still think the new source will so wonders for the server and community. I personally don't need to play on a mac although I have and it seemed fine-ish, and I did not have over 100 buddies, but the other fixes that the new source will bring will do more good then bad. Another option which is a bit pricier is to find a cheap win xp laptop on ebay or maybe a friend who doesnt use one anymore. It may not be a fix for everyone, but I use a very old xp dell for stuff that I dont need a lot of power for all the time. It cost me 5 dollars in gas to grab it from a buddy who had it in his closet for 10 years. It runs royals just fine. This is a long rant on my way home so it may not make the most sense but my point is theres always a way to keep doing what you love doing and for some thats royals. If anyone needs advice or help feel free to hit me up and I can walk you through mac vm setup or guides on free versions of xp or even 7!

    Although it seems like most people don't seem to be affected by this... one of the primary reasons this server was so appealing to me was because I didn't have to install virtualbox or bootcamp in order to play maplestory.... When royals discontinues their support for Mac OS, I probably won't be able to play anymore... When is this supposed to start going into effect?

    I just joined for about a month and I have to say that I was extremely excited the first time saw the mushroom icon on my mac. I was always playing ms (other servers) on bootcamp and it makes me really annoying with keyboard and stuff plus my comp runs hot all the time.
    Be able to play maple on mac makes me really happy and I’m so thankful for the last month. : )
    Anyway I might not quit but maybe spending less and less time on it cause I love OS system so much and I hate to swap using os/windows all days (cause everything I had is on os and I can be able to do my work while online) this is +80% reasons for me to quit. *heartbreaking*

    It's just as heartbreaking for us to have to do this as well. There's just no way that we can delay the new source for another whole year. We had to weigh up the pro's and con's and make a very tough decision between having the server stay exactly as it is with its horrible random lag spikes, general slowness, being restricted to not being able to do any fun GM events, not being able to fix many of the really frustrating bugs, etc.... Or make a huge leap forward performance-wise to something even Nexon couldn't accomplish due to the technological advancements in programming since 2008, along with the ability to have a bug-free gameplay experience, and the opportunity to add in content that many people have been waiting a very long time for.

    Disappointing. The original reason I chose MapleRoyals was because it worked on my laptop.
    I have a few other computers, so I'll be fine, but this really is unfortunate for Mac users.

    For the people saying their mac overheats. Prop it up, or get a fan for the bottom. It helps a lot. Change is not overrated when 50% of the time the games unplayable in some cases. We need the new sauce even if it means mac users have to spend 45 minutes making a change(yes it takes about that long so its not the end of the world people...)

    I'm not sure if you guys are talking about the fact that you cant simply hold down cmd ctrl or alt buttons to keep attacking in parallels. If that is your problem its easily solved by putting your attack button on basically any other key. For me I've noticed this while making new characters that a few buttons is a bit finicky on parallels but it has never really been a problem for me since I usually put my jump/attack/buff keys on a/s/d/f/q/w/e/r/t/y/u and while using these keys i never get any delay.

    If your computer is just generally slow my best advice is to just get rid of some stuff that you don't use and try not to run a ton of other apps while playing maple. Also if you have an older mac you might want to run windows xp in your vm since xp requires less ram, disk space and processing power.

    Also I know theres a lot of people who are willing to help anyone who is having troubles moving over from mac client to virtual machine or bootcamp!

    I have bought parallels since I had to start bossing on Mac, I tried Windows 7 but always DC in HT, then I downloaded Windows XP , I never dced except server mass dc.


    To me , it's really inconvenient to play royals on parallels except bossing , because sometimes I want to take screenshots by using command +shift + 4 , my mouse was locked in it . Mac client has the higher graphics quality, which makes me feel better while playing this game.Hope you guys can invent a new Mac version soon :(

    You do realize the graphic quality is no different between a Mac and PC right? The game is from the early 2000s, so no state of the art graphics rendering is being used.
