How to run mapleroyals in VM fullscreen?
When I choose the fullscreen display, the game does not fill the screen.

 

Purchased a brand new laptop yesterday !
I have Windows 10 on it, all graphic cards, directx and what so ever are UP TO DATE !
I keep getting the Gr2D problem, even when compatibility mode is set to Win 98.

Installed VMware as shown, and I still got the same problem.
Downloaded VMware tools, and it fixed the problem.
Which means the problem is not even related to graphic cards or compatibility mode.
What exactly does "VMware tools" does to the PC? What does it change in the system?
If I knew what it did, I may be able to do the same outside VMware, on my Windows 10, and perhaps run MapleRoyals like I should .

When I try to run Setup.exe, it says I need DirectX 8.1 or higher to run it.
I have DirectX 12 !

Thanks, installing VM tools fixed my problem.
But there is 1 thing that persists...
Even thought i set the VM resolution to match my pc (1920x1080 or something), the game only ever opens in 800x600, and always on windowed mode, wich is REALLY really small, like i cant even read stuff.
If i press alt+enter, all it happens is to turn all the screen around the game in black, but the game size stay the same.

this version of maplestory only runs in 800x600, you can change your vmware settings to fullscreen which will make it more like fullscreen is when you run outisde vmware.

 

:/ i used to run royals outside VMware on full screen resolution (widescreen!) and without distortions, but ok meh

Bascilly I done all the steps and successfully got into Royal , so I deicde to test it with a zak run, however, every time i got into the register map it just dc me (Internet DC not Client shutdown) However I have no problem getting on with the actually PC and going into the same map will not dc me, did I miss any steps?

Help I get error code :- 2147467529 (unspecified error), I had tried all the compability and tried to run as administrator, but still getting the same error. Theres nothing to be close in the vm ware and theres no antivirus install.

why do i keep dcing after entering portals? i just get black screen and music in the background but ive already dced.
im running on 512 mb memory

update: tried with 1024mb and it is worse

most people here already have the installation file for mapleroyals installed, VMWare has an option of "shared folders".
basically instead of redownloading the file, you can share it to the VM and save some time

 

Hi Tim, I'm running same specs on VM as urs and im experiencing tons of lag. Is there any suggestion on improving the gaming experience? it is not playable for me in vm.
