I have been missing ye olde days of MapleStory, and found my way here. Description-wise, this is very appealing, but I have a few things I am wondering about. 1) Is there a cooldown on the Magician Ultimates? From my perspective, a big issue that caused MapleStory's decline is "leeching". This was only made possible by those ultimates lacking cooldowns, while % mana potions made their mana cost inconsequential. 2) Would the people in charge here consider cloning my character from Global over to my account here? The character isn't 200, and I stopped playing before the major exp curve changes. I spent a long time training my character, it would be nice if I didn't have to redo all that. I'd rather be able to "pick up where I left off." At most I only want my main items and my favorite chairs. If it helps, I'd be willing to forgo my items and have the level adjusted if the level would be disruptive to the rankings here. And, of course, I am willing to meet with someone on global to confirm it's my character. 3) Is there "Carnival PQ" in this? I already know LMPQ is in here, but that's not a deal breaker. While I did participate because they offered good exp, I never liked Carnival or LMPQ. They overshadowed LPQ and OPQ in terms of exp-gain, but offered none of the social experiences I cherish. Thank you in advance for the help.
1.Nope there is no cooldown for the "magician ultimates". People sell leech here. If you don't like the fact that there is no cooldown for the magician ultimates and if you dont like leeching, then you dont have to buy it. However, it's pretty much how most bishops make a living and leech isn't really that OP. 2.I'm 100% sure your character from GMS canNOT be transferred to this server. However, you can recreate your character as long as someone didn't take your ign. 3.Yes Carnival PQ is in this server. If you don't like how it overshadows LPQ, there's a discussion going on right now about whether the Ludi PQ exp should be buffed or not to make more people do it over CPQ
Thank you for the swift response. My problem with leeching is that it devalues normal partying and the design of higher level maps that were so clearly made to be shared. So, choosing to boycott the service does not lessen its negative impact on the community's experience of the game. Alas, that's a debate for another day. [STRIKE="Too bad"] Nice. Hope that "can" wasn't a typo. Do you know what limits there are regarding this? Meso / Item limits?[/STRIKE] Bummer.
RiceAddict pretty much covers it. I'd just like to add a few points. 1) Most 4th job Bishops and Arch Mages prefer to duo the large skeles map as it's better exp than soloing with a leecher (only really applicable to bishops). I'd also like to say that leeching doesn't necessarily have a negative impact on people's experience here, there are many differing opinions on it. Personally I have never sold leech, but I do leech friends or guildies. Other people don't leech at all or live by selling leech. And some people hate mid levels I until 4th job, so they decide to buy leech to get there. It all depends on your personal preference. 2) No way this would be considered. It's be giving a significant competitive advantage where everyone else had to start from scratch. Don't be discouraged though, 4x may sound super low but it's not to bad. 3) I'd just like to add that you can smega (they drop from mobs) if you ever want to do CPQ/OPQ and can usually put together a party that way. It'll be easier if you have friends or guildies to fill your party ranks though.
