    I guess most of us, save for those with a damaged right temporal lobe, won't expect to find arguments about Arcane/Ede/Ellinia/etc servers in the MapleRoyals forum and in a thread specifically created for Patch 01/01/17 discussion. Rather than be bothered by what other people have to say and giving an instruction, you could have ignored the whole thread and avoided adding to the noise.

    Yes people donate voluntarily but you should never disregard any donator's contribution in the development of the server. Without the donations, you would not get to enjoy the server as you do today. I'm not trying to play up the importance of donators but for people like you who take things for granted, you often forget that only a fraction of the players actually pay for the cost of the server.

    Tired of reading all those rivers. Just understand few things.
    Firstly, Donations - it is your decision, to make a payment to server or not.
    Secondly, would do put this effort and work for free?

    In conclusion, we all have to work. One does one, other does another..

    Don't have much time to respond because of the patch that is going on right now but I'll just state a few points:
    • Yes, we are a registered company in the United Kingdom and have never tried to hide the fact.
    • We have never claimed to be a charity, in fact about a year ago we even changed mentions prior to checkout on the website regarding donations to 'purchase' or 'get royalpoints'. This is to abide by UK trading standards.
    • There were many factors that led to setting up MapleRoyals as a limited company, I'll name a few:
      • To abide by UK law and pay any corporation tax and VAT.
      • To obtain a PayPal business account so that we have access to the business tools such as PayPal IPN (to automatically add RP to accounts).
      • To remove any limits from the PayPal account.
      • To be able to set up a business bank account so that we are able to allow different payment methods in the future.
      • To have limited liability.
    • The amount of money the server turns over will be shown in the annual accounts that will be publicly listed for you to browse at your leisure.
    • We are not doing this to earn money, if we wanted to do that we would do what many other servers have done in the past, and be pay2win and wipe every year.
    • We put any excess money back into the server in one shape or form, such as paying quite an extortionate amount for DDoS protection from one of the worlds leading companies, improving server software/hardware, or even some marketing like boosting some posts on facebook.
    I think the majority of players would agree that we are doing the right thing, and that promoting, improving and protecting the server is a much better idea than disabling purchasing of RP.

    The patch is going to be extended for an additional 4 hours. We should not have to extend any further after that, however there will be some limited functionality in game. We plan to continue working hard to fix any issues as soon as the game comes back up and will likely be doing daily server checks to implement fixes or missing functionality. We apologise for the inconvenience.

    Why all that testing and ongoing developement on the live server? Usually you would do that on a separate server, avoiding risks like the current delays, and once its all working, stop the the live server to port over the dev version.
    Im not complaining though, just wondering why its done that way.
